This week at the IACP Awards in New York, Jane had
the great honor of presenting the Eat Your Books General Cookbook
Award to Molly Stevens. Not only is Molly a wonderful
cookbook author, she has been an EYB member and supporter for a
long time.
We were
delighted that she also won the Single Subject Award - she was
bemused that her Roasting
book fitted into both categories.
The other nominations for the EYB Award didn't go
away empty handed - John Besh won in the Family category and
Jacques Pépin's TV show Essential Pépin won best TV
series.
Other notable award winners were Christine Manfield's beautiful
book Tasting India,
which won both the best Culinary Travel Award and Cookbook of the
Year. Lucio Galletto and David Dales's The Art of
Pasta won both the Photography and Styling Award and
picked up the People's Choice Award. Impressive as both books
are from the Penguin imprint Lantern in Australia, who produce
stunning books.
Modernist
Cuisine won several awards - the
Professional
Kitchen Award, the Design Award and the Visionary Achievement Award
- Maxime Bilet was there to collect the awards. We have
details of all the Cookbook
Award winners. IACP also recognizes the food writers,
stylists and photographers in all media - you can see the winners
on the
EYB blog.
It was great to meet so many EYB members at the IACP Culinary
Expo. At the 4 day conference we've had very positive
feedback from cookbook authors and publishers - they love what
we're doing at Eat Your Books.
