    I love to take chicken breasts and cover them in salsa and cook on low all day. Then take them out and shred them, put them back in the salsa and I have flavorful shredded chicken for tacos, burritos, salad, etc. You can even make it with frozen chicken breasts (for those days I forget to defrost them in advance).

    Chicken curry made with chicken thighs. In fact all sorts of curry. And beef cheeks cooked in Guinness. Wow never thought of using the slow cooker as a bain- marie, great tip guys -- thanks.

    I love to do lentil and carrot stew in a crockpot - it's not just tasty, but it's also very nutritious. I LOVE slow cookers - I have about 8 or 10 cookbooks for them, but I'm sure this one will top them all! Thanks, guys!

    Pork shoulder, which I use as a base for homemade dog food. Of course, I also get part of it as my protein for dinner before the dogs get a chance. No sauce or spices...just well-fatted meat.

    I don't have one, but I'd love to win this book for my friend who is due any day now with baby #3 - she loves her slow-cooker and I think she would LOVE this book! From what I've heard, the best thing to cook in a slow-cooker are meats and chilis, but it would be fun to try a dessert from a slow-cooker too!

    Chicken. Cooks slow and evenly and the taste is special. Always remove the skin after cooking.

    I do steel cut oats every week in my slow cooker, but I think the perfect thing to do is apple butter - it comes out great with much less hands-on work and no worry about scorching.

    It's so grad to pick! As a busy mom, I use my slow cooker multiple times a week. A whole chicken is awesome, bc then you have all the shredded meat, & can make stock right in the slow cooker after.

    I would say the old steamed puddings and breads, Boston brown bread probably being the best-known example. These had almost died out, as the old method of cooking them required at least 2 hours of stovetop steaming - wasteful of fuel and very impractical, especially here in Florida where I live! The slow cooker has given these desserts a whole new lease on life.
