No, I haven't gone vegetarian, it is just that my wife's office is arranged to topic and the place to start indexing happens to be the vegetable section. Wait until I get to the meat section.

Only a few entries yesterday as the Time Life Series Foods of the World doesn't have ISBN numbers, so while I can enter them on LibraryThing, which I did, I can't enter them here, yet.

I am currently reading Good Meat by Deborah Krasner, excellent a real primer on the animals and fabrication, cuts and selections. I don't fully agree with the philosophy of grass fed meat, I think beef, as example, is more flavorful if raised on pasturage until mature enough to eat corn and then finished for perhaps 6 weeks on corn.

I do blog and it can be found here: http://blog.charcuteire.com/ I will be doing something in the near future, extending these comments a little.

As well my wife shows what she does with these books here: http://menu.vldyson.com/

Well most of today's entries have to do with grilling and/or meat with some pasta. Actually seeing the glimmer at the end of the tunnel. Until they add magazines, 30 years of Gormet and BA each.

Reeached 400 books today, but only 130 of the indexed, I've also 50+ without ISBN and quite a few not yet in the Eat Your Books Library.

I would say, not including magazines, I am now about half way through the cookbooks.

I'm doing the same thing on Library Thing, where I am wwj. But there, I am entering about twice as many, so far mostly either food related or technical and have just started on the general fiction. I also have all but three of the entire Library of America Series, which does have a book on American Food Writing.

Only four shelves left to enter, perhaps by the end of next week?

Thursday we journey to Dietrich's Meats (google it) to pick up 100 lbs of various fresh pork and other sundries that may catch our eye. I will blog about it as I did here  http://blog.charcuteire....04/14/meet-the-meat.aspx

542 books on the shelf, plus the ones without ISBN, plus the ones not in the EYB library. Perhaps 700 total at this point. 2/3 of the way through the Italian shelf. Three full shelves to go.

I'm entering these books in Library Thing at the same time, so when the time comes I'll be able to find the cook books without ISBN with little trouble. I'm wwj over there, and I have a few hundred of the non-cookbooks entered. I concentrated on Library of America, of which I own all but two, and the professional books I had upstairs.

Cataloging the basement will take at least the winter, as I just found one box never unpacked and we moved almost 14 years ago.

Went missing, Thanksgiving around here tends to preoccupy us, not one but two birds, not one day on Thursday, but a second on Friday (with 15 people this year).

Pictures of things here http://menu.vldyson.com/...giving-weekend-2010.aspx

Christmas eve will almost certainly be standing rib and the Christmas goose is in the freezer. The whole ham for next year's proscuitto is defrosting and the cure will start tomorrow.

643 books on the shelf, I assume that is the indexed ones, one half shelf to go. Regional cooking shelves and we are about to go to NOLA.

Finished, 666 books on my shelf in the EYB library. Perhaps 100 more that either aren't in the library or don't have ISBN

Of course neither my wife nor I are likely to finish buying cookbooks in the future.
