HI - any plan to Index any of the great Ipad cooking Apps such as Baking with Dorie, Gordon Ramsay, Mario? there are some fantastic one's and it's getting hard to keep them all straight as to what recipe is where.

By coincidence we are just about to index Baking with Dorie - it should be up in the next few days.  We will then work our way through the others.  We will have 'Buy App' links to iTunes in the same way we have Buy Book links.  So between cookbooks, magazines, blogs, eBooks, apps - is there anywhere you get recipes that we haven't covered?  Oh yes, personal recipes (clippings, etc) is going live in the next week.

Wow - nothing like keeping you busy :)  If you need any help on the Apps, happy to help as I have a lot.

Jane, reading your comment about a personal recipes/clippings feature going live soon got me thinking.  I noticed magazine recipes that are also available online have the option to add that individual recipe to our bookshelves.  Now, I am the kind of person who only tears out the recipes I want to keep from my magazines instead of saving the entire magazine.  So, I was wondering if there could be the option for us to add an individual magazine recipe to our bookshelves even if it does not have an online link?  I was thinking that would make it easier to add some of our clippings to our shelves (at least for the clippings that come from the magazines that are already indexed).  I don't know if it could be done, but I thought it might be a good idea if it were possible.  :)

We would like to index more apps though cookbooks are still our main priority. Apps would seem to be an ideal candididate for member indexing since there are usually far fewer recipes in an app than in a cookbook.  If any member wants to index an app we are happy to add it to the EYB database - just contact us at [email protected].

I second the request for Panna!

Is there an update on plans to index apps? I'd also love to see Panna in the index!

As I said in my reply 5 months ago, we are very happy to add any app to the EYB Library if an EYB member wants to index it.  The problem with us indexing apps is that we will often have to buy them first in order to index them which increases our costs.  With books, we get sent them by the publishers or our indexers borrow them from their libraries.  So if anyone wants to offer to index Panna then I will add it and you can request to index it.
