Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Pork medallions with blackberry chutney

    • wodtke on October 05, 2015

I made the quick blackberry chutney in this recipe to go with charcoal-roasted heritage pig pork chops. Worked well, as is usually the case with sweet sauces and pork. The sauce took considerably longer to cook down than indicated in the recipe, but of course that is always subject to many variables -- pan, heat applied, etc.

  • Corn chowder with zucchini and orzo

    • Christine on June 17, 2014

A delicious summer soup -- was a perfect use for the scallions, zucchini (& yellow squash) from our CSA box. I used vegetable broth instead of water because I wasn't using fresh corn and, therefore, not using the corn cobs to flavor the water. Since we ate this as a main dish (and left out the orzo), it really only served two of us with generous portions.
