Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Gorgonzola and pecan crunch salad with hazelnut vinaigrette

    • hillsboroks on June 29, 2014

This has been one of my favorite salads for many years. Good for entertaining or for family. You can do a shortcut by using a good bottled fruit vinaigrette but do not skip the pecans and Gorgonzola as they really make this salad exceptional.

  • Hearts of palm swamp cabbage

    • stacey_nn0o4j on May 07, 2026

I made a half batch with some leftover hearts of palm. It was a simple to make and flavorful side dish.

  • Strawberry soup

    • cougargal on November 27, 2018

      Delicious and easy!

  • Potatoes with shiitakes and Brie

    • stacey_nn0o4j on May 11, 2026

I have made this recipe twice, both times substituting baby potatoes. The first time I used Point Reyes Truffle Brie Cheese and the second time I tried Point Reyes Toma instead. Both variations were delicious. It is very quick and simple to prepare.

  • Rhubarb bread

    • breakthroughc on July 10, 2023

This is a good basic recipe. I think it is a little boring, so I will add some spices next time like cinnamon or cardamon. I will probably make again as I have lots of rhubarb.

  • Wenatchee apple bread

    • hillsboroks on August 21, 2018

I made this with some of our Gravenstein apples and homemade Gravenstein applesauce and it was perfect, not too sweet but full of apple flavor. I was not sure about the applesauce glaze but it really added flavor and texture to the bread. This is a great apple bread and one I plan to make often in the future.
