Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Salty dog

    • GiselleMarie on February 28, 2021

This was refreshing on a summer day but I wouldn’t give it five stars. The grapefruit juice is so pronounced that it overpowers all the other ingredients.

  • Grilled burgers with Meyer lemon butter

    • Acarroll on December 14, 2025

The herb butter on its own smelled delicious, but when paired with the burger just made everything too greasy. Kids loved it.

  • Pasta salad with cherry tomatoes and green olivada

    • hirsheys on November 09, 2023

One of my all time favorites. I usually leave out the anchovies and oregano (never have), and often add the tomatoes to individuals servings rather than the whole so the leftovers last longer.

  • Creamy cilantro-lime slaw

    • jzanger on June 21, 2011

This instantly became my favorite slaw. It's crunchy and refreshing rather than cloying like the traditional American cole slaw.

  • Heirloom tomato and grilled corn salad with basil vinaigrette

    • TrishaCP on August 06, 2018

This was a nice fresh salad of summer's bounty. I've never grilled corn the way they specified before (soaking the corn and then grilling until the husks are charred)- it kept the corn soft and sweet but I missed the direct char on the cob and probably would just do it that way next time.
