    I agree this is a delicious stew or soup. I usually sauté onions in oil, then add garlic and cook briefly. Then put into slow cooker with all ingredients except vinegar. I use chicken stock and add extra to make more of a soup. I also use a madras curry paste. Cook on high 3-4 hrs then add vinegar and adjust salt to taste. A lovely winter dish and very inexpensive. We usually have with chopped salad and homemade bread.

    Delicious! I've also added cooked Italian sausage to this with great results
