Hello! By day I run a community-based non profit, but by night (and weekends) I like to be in the kitchen. I don't understand the concept of boredom as I have many more projects--cooking, gardening, biking, knitting, reading, etc.--than I can reasonably tackle in a lifetime. I try to eat locally and cook seasonably hence the interest in canning and pickling, but I do make (many) exceptions. I went back to school a few years ago to get a culinary certificate (I was really craving a structured learning environment), but was happily sidetracked and left with a baking and pastry certificate.
