Storing spices: Some practical ideas

Spice RackRegardless of the kitchen, storing spices always seems to be a challenge. It can be so frustrating to buy a new jar of some rarely used spice and then find a barely opened one tucked in some corner - or unearth a jar of some enticing spice only to find it has no flavor left.

The Kitchn proposes some answers in their article, 10 Practical Ideas for Better Spice Storage. Among their solutions are used muffin tins, magnetic jars, Mason jars, and an old printer's rack. Feel free to check them out - and, if any of you have other ideas, we'd love to hear them.

I use racks similar to this one: http://www.amazon.com/Spice-Rack-Three-Tier-Natural/dp/B00487PVGY/ref=sr_1_96?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1344218755&sr=1-96&keywords=spice+rack And clear glass bottles similar to Penbzey's - also from Amazon but a fraction of the price/ I have 4 of those racks and around 100 spices. I keep bulk quantities of some in a drawer.
