I love the white velvet cake with milk chocolate ganache from Rose's Heavenly Cakes.

  • hillsboroks  on  11/1/2014 at 8:15 AM

I love her berry pie recipes where you reduce the juice to keep the need for thickeners to a minimum.

  • Analyze  on  11/1/2014 at 9:12 AM

Confession - I haven't made a Rose Levy Beranbaum recipe yet. I'm mostly baking/cooking through my cookbooks, as a huge project, so I haven't been doing much in the way of other recipes. I did come across Rose's blog and really enjoyed it, as I was looking for information about the internal temperature of a finished cake. I would love to win this cookbook though!

  • pgarcia  on  11/1/2014 at 10:35 AM

I have made the biscotti recipe from her Christmas Cookie book for years It's a hit!

  • Sarabclever  on  11/1/2014 at 10:49 AM

I'm not sure, but I love her Cake Bible. I'm still curious to try the mayonnaise cake!

  • bching  on  11/1/2014 at 10:50 AM

My favorite is the open-faced fresh blueberry pie. It's delicious--avoiding the jammy texture of most blueberry pies, and relatively quick and easy, especially compared to most of her recipes.

  • maisie_grn  on  11/1/2014 at 12:55 PM

All of her pies bring my soul bliss!

  • Aggie92  on  11/1/2014 at 1:14 PM

Sadly, I don't own any of her cookbooks. I would love to start baking with this one.

  • yegana  on  11/1/2014 at 2:38 PM

İ got interested to get it.

  • AnnaZed  on  11/1/2014 at 3:14 PM

  • trudys_person  on  11/1/2014 at 5:27 PM

Chocolate Oblivion Truffle Torte from The Cake Bible. I've made it countless times, and it's amazing - always blows people away! The Cake Bible was one of the first cookbooks I ever owned, and I've made more recipes from it than any other cookbook I own, including three wedding cakes.

  • gastronom  on  11/1/2014 at 8:58 PM

From The Pie and Pasrty Bible, her recipe for Pecan Pie is the best! Not too sweet, uses golden syrup, has never failed me.

  • TippyCanoe  on  11/1/2014 at 11:28 PM

A number of years ago, when the Cake Bible came out, I worked in a Seattle bookshop and we used to hand-sell that book to just about everyone that cooked. I have loved that book ever since and have made many of the recipes. My favorite stand-by (made for most kid birthdays) is probably the all-American chocolate butter cake with a milk chocolate buttercream. So excited about the new book!

  • Lisathebaker  on  11/2/2014 at 7:33 AM

So excited to have this new resource right before the holidays!

  • calmond79  on  11/2/2014 at 9:43 AM

I looked up some of her recipes and the Chocolate Tweed Angel Food Cake sounds heavenly...pun intended! ;)

  • chawkins  on  11/2/2014 at 11:30 AM

The open-faced blueberry pie is the freshest tasting blueberry pie ever, since some of the blueberries are not cooked and the rest are cooked to a delicious jam flavored with lemon juice.

  • GoldenLeica  on  11/2/2014 at 4:08 PM

I make a variation on one of the variations in the Pie and Pastry Bible. She has a recipe for Pure Pear Pie, which is a variation of her Best All American Apple Pie. I put brandied currants in it. I put a round of pastry in a beautiful handmade ceramic pie plate (with absolutely beautiful blue and brown glazes on it), fill with the fruit, and then fold the pastry over like a galette so that the beautiful rim of the pie plate shows. I've become famous in my family for this pie.

I bought The Cake Bible about 30 years ago when I thought I would have a career as a baking caterer for weddings. That didn't work out. Now widowed (and often cooking for one), this contest got me to relook at that book, and I think I need to make something (albeit a small recipe) JUST FOR ME. I'd love this new book to peruse.

  • milgwimper  on  11/6/2014 at 9:25 AM

I don't he any of her books. As mine is in storage thousands of miles away. I gave her books away as gifts but I always wanted her books myself.
