The easiest way to add your books

We know that one of the biggest obstacles for new members is the time and effort they think will be needed to add their books and create their Bookshelf.  It really doesn't take very long to do but if you own more than a few books, it's worth considering a barcode scanner.  This reads the barcode on the back of the book, importing the ISBN number into Eat Your Books.

Barcode scanners

We have a Help section on the various types of barcode scanners available. Basically you can get a plug-in USB scanner that will import directly to EYB's Import Books, or a phone app that will either import directly to EYB or into a text file that you then cut and paste into EYB. Whichever method you choose, it's a lot faster than pulling every book from the shelf and searching for the title or author.  And if you have some kids around, they might actually find it fun to help since it involves a ray gun!

Nifty! You wouldn't feel the urge to provide a youtube tutorial, would you? For we troglodyte/cave dwellers? Yes. Got iPhone. No, don't use my barcode app. Cause no, don't know how!

I will have to get my 19 yo daughter or 21 yo old son to show me how to post a YouTube video. But I will attempt it.
