I love middle eastern food… and i have many cookbooks related to this cuisine, however not an Eygptian one. I had to entertain an Eygptian colleague of my husbands once and had no idea what to make. I decided a to prepare a selection of middle eastern foods as I thought it was near enough what he may have been used to. He was very complementary and liked the food. He suggested I try 'Ful medames ' one day as that was his favourite.
Hard for me to pick a favourite.
I love nothing better than a good plate of tabbouleh, hummus, babaganoush and felafel. Also fattoush is a a firm favourite too.
My husband loves Shakshuka… Especially for breakfast / brunch.

Lamb Tagine but I do it with the tagine in my Primo smoker to give another layer and depth of flavour whilst it slow cooks.

  • soffner  on  January 31, 2017

I grew up on pita bread, grape leaves and lubia. I still love them both, and we have lubia almost every week.
