Smith & Daughters: A Cookbook (That Happens to Be Vegan) by Shannon Martinez and Mo Wyse is the debut cookbook of the talent team behind the celebrated Melbourne restaurant of the same name.

    Jackfruit carnitas! I've tried vegan jackfruit recipes before and they didn't turn out.

    Either the kale and leek bake or the Spanish potato salad. Both sound delicious. Actually the whole book sounds good and different!

    mmm...pozole...jackfruit carnitas, chargrilled tofu adobo, brazilian slaw...braised barley and peas...oh, warm mexican corn and blueberry pudding, sangria crumble!! gangster horchata!! el nino, siesta, blood orange and basil margarita, basil luchador, bitter jess...these cocktails...this cookbook...absolutely impossible to choose just one.

    one of my favorite foods, especially as a child, was my mum's shepard's pie so of course I'm going to pick Chilean Shepard's Pie!

    I like the idea of the "Colombian hominy & black bean soup (Pozole)"; I've made the delicious Moosewood Restaurant recipe for years (the one with the butternut squash, red bell peppers, onions, hominy, and chipotle), and this one looks nice, for a change.

    My daughter is a vegan and I am always looking for new and interesting dishes to make for her. So the Braised Barley and Peas sound like something she and I will really like.
