I would love to be able to feed my family for $50 a week, but I don't know how we could get it down that far.

  • obbigttam  on  3/31/2017 at 9:50 PM

Lol I can't see how but willing to give it a try. Our weekly shop averages around $200 at the moment and apart from becoming vegetarian can't picture getting 2 adults and a growing boy fed on $50.

I would be using a far higher percentage of canned foods to get down to $50 per week. It's worth a try!

If I had to I could but they wouldn't necessarily like it. Lots of rice and homemade soups.

With difficulty... And there is only 2 of us

  • imjammin2  on  4/2/2017 at 7:21 PM

I'm sure I could but it would be a challenge!

  • keelz23  on  4/3/2017 at 1:09 PM

I would try the tomato & zucchini pasta.

It's really hard to imagine, 4 men w/ $50? Does it include meat?

  • bstewart  on  4/10/2017 at 6:56 PM

Possibly, being super resourceful. But it'd be a challenge!

  • gjnmc  on  4/14/2017 at 6:28 PM

Possibly if we ate much less meat and more canned food. I'm very curious to read this book to see how its done.

  • CurlyCozza  on  4/14/2017 at 9:37 PM

I very much doubt it! But I am so curious as to how she does it!

  • fiarose  on  4/15/2017 at 7:34 AM

  • Rowdyrabbit  on  4/24/2017 at 5:45 PM

The best I've been able to do is $100 for the 5 of us, with a well stocked pantry though! Also, we have special dietary needs that usually pushes costs up.
