A new documentary by Rasmus Dinesen explores the phenomenon of how a tire company came to be so powerful in the world of food. You can view a trailer for the film on Grub Street

In the film, titled Michelin Stars: Tales From the Kitchen,  Dinesen interviews some of the world's best chefs, including Daniel Humm, René Redzepi, Alain Ducasse, Guy Savoy, plus eleven other star chefs and a few top food critic. The chefs relate the reverence that they feel about the stars and how hard they strive to acheieve them.

Of course the film will feature plenty of dramatic, gorgeous food shots, but it will also explore the "dark flip side of the shiny coin" that comes with Michelin's coveted stars. One of the film's subjects says that the stars can be "like an ex-boyfriend who never wants to see you again." The film premieres on September 23, during the San Sebastián Film Festival.
