The
Staub Cookbook: Modern Recipes for Classic Cast Iron pays
tribute to the enameled cast-iron cookware of Staub, with 100
achievable, modern recipes from top chefs and bloggers from around
the country.

The beautiful photography that fills this book will surely tempt
you to try the recipes as well as purchase more cookware. I
had a difficult time choosing which recipes I wanted to try first
as they all are appealing and perfect for weeknight dinners and
lovely enough for entertaining. I ended up making the Chocolate
babka rolls last weekend and the Gingery Vietnamese chicken this
week. Note: Flourless chocolate orange cake lists 1 1/2 cups of
flour as an ingredient. We are determining if this is a recipe
title error or an ingredient error.
The rolls are now my son's favorite thing ever. They were easy
to make and came out wonderfully. Be sure to follow the
instructions and use all the sugar syrup as it does add shelf life
to these coiled treats. I saved them for my son who couldn't get
enough of them and even by day four they were great. My husband and
I loved the chicken dish. The ginger, garlic and fish sauce in this
recipe packs a punch and the marinade resulted in tender, juicy
meat (even the chicken breast I tossed in with the thigh meat).
As I have mentioned before, my passion for cookbooks extends
itself to other cooking related items, including French cookware.
Staub cookware is sturdy, will last a lifetime and their colors are
gorgeous making oven to table serving not only efficient but
beautiful. Plus, Staub's black interior prevents discoloration and
every piece I own looks as new as the day I purchased
it.
For this promotion Staub provided me with a 12-inch skillet in
basil (one of my favorite colors). In my photo below, you will
see how pretty the rolls presented. These rolls are perfect for
Sunday morning brunch or holiday breakfasts.
I also used this pan to sear the chicken in lieu of a grill pan. The
grill pan would have made lovely markings but the dish was
delicious with or without the grill marks.
