@Bellacat, I would tend to agree with you and it drives me crazy sometimes! I remember seeing Fodmap friendly soup on my local shop and just roll my eyes (as in what the ... is that thing again). And it amazes me how defensive people can get when you challenge their preferred diet, I always laugh internally, then give up and move on to another topic.
But anyway it takes all sorts, and it is "quite" harmless, pending making your cooking life difficult and interesting...
Personnally I eat everything, except blue cheese, as my father traumatized me when I was a kid telling me it was the house of the warms, and this is why there was blue holes in it :/ and raw tomatoes, kiwis, or passion fruit (or anything with jelly like stuff in it).
I guess I could create my crazy "no blue no jelly" diet too !! :)
