Don't forget for anyone wanting international book shipments that the Book Depository ships all books free for international deliveries. Of course their prices are slightly higher to compensate but it can still be a great deal when shipping around the world. They won't have every Australian cookbook listed though they had most of the recently indexed Australian cookbooks on EYB (links to BD listed below). There is a link from the Buy Book button to the Book Depository (and we get a small affiliate fee, so we can index even more books).

Simply Bread by Australian Women's Weekly
Gelato Messina by Nick Palumbo
Poh Bakes 100 Greats by Poh Ling Yeow

I just thought I'd hijack this old thread because I have a question about importing books. So Deborah told me something earlier about how EYB is no longer automatically receiving book data from Amazon and all importing needs to be done manually now. I figured if there has been a change in the way that importing is done, then maybe there would be no harm if I made another attempt to import 17 titles that I had previously tried unsuccessfully to import. I figured all of them were unsuccessful in the past because of the way they're tagged on Amazon, and many of them are not primarily cookbooks--although I own all of them, and most contain at least one recipe or are general health/nutrition titles.

9781250052018 - Back Home Again (Tales from Grace Chapel Inn) (a novel with recipes)

9780385347716 - I'm Too Young for This, by Suzanne Somers

9780875180144 - Of Norwegian Ways (18 recipes starting on page 117)

9780195105780 - The Scandinavian American Family Album (Swedish meatballs on page 89)

9781882606054 - Vitamins and Minerals

For the previous five ISBNs, the system is telling me that the "ISBN is already on your bookshelf," but I don't see any of those ISBNs on my bookshelf.

Just for the record, the other 12 titles are:

9780884211570 - 5-Minute Feasts

9780877739180 - The Book of Tea

9780764552755 - Cats for Dummies (contains one recipe--for humans)

9781586635923 - Celebrating the Family (pudding recipe on page 19)

9780913204276 - Gladi and Hjal: A Love Story (one recipe for lemon-merengue pie)

9780891344322 - Great Gifts You Can Make in Minutes (includes food gifts, with recipes)

9780743272865 - Home Comforts (EYB has the hardcover in the database.)

9780195124200 - The Italian American Family Album (zabaglione recipe on page 111)

9780966865998 - The New York Times Guide to New York City Restaurants, 2001

9781435167353 - Spiralize It!

9780590738880 - West to a Land of Plenty (contains 1 recipe)

9780023081804 - Introductory Foods, Eighth Edition

whitewoods - we actually are still importing book data from Amazon (there was a short gap which is maybe when you communicated with Deborah). However the reason why books do not import is not just that Amazon does not list the book but also that the book was not tagged with a food or drink tag on Amazon. We had to introduce this rule as some new members imported the ISBNs for every book they owned into our Import Books. There were some interesting books there though not ones we would want appearing in our Library!

I have imported several of the books on your list. If you sort your Bookshelf by Date added to Library you will see those books at the top. Some of the books are not on Amazon so cannot be added at this time.

I cannot see that you have imported the ISBN numbers for many of the books you list. I will send you a list of the outstanding books (2 German language books and 3 books not listed on Amazon at all). You have successfully imported 140 books.

The Amazon food/drink tag is not actually visible on Amazon pages. Is it? Because I've looked at the "product details" section of several cookbooks on there, and I don't see anything resembling a category/genre/subject/etc. So I guess those tags are hidden. It's too bad--that would make it easier to understand why something isn't importing.

Thanks for importing several of these titles. I kind of wish that 9780875180144 (Of Norwegian Ways) could be imported too. I think it is on Amazon, but when I try to import the ISBN, I get the message that says, "ISBN is already on your bookshelf". The book is mostly history, but it has a recipe section in the latter portion of the book with 18 recipes. I would probably request to index this one right away if it was imported successfully.

It looks like there is a bug on that book. We will get it fixed.

I just noticed that the bug must have been fixed recently. Because I usually sort my library by "date added" once every couple of weeks, and I just noticed Of Norwegian Ways in my library today. Thanks!
