Rating stars - mine vs. others   Go to last post Go to last unread

Would it be possible in an upcoming revision to display rating stars given by the user ("Your rating is") to be in a different color than those of all other users?  Currently, the only way to know if the rating is mine is to hover over the stars with a cursor, which I typically won't do.  (If I'm using a iPhone, can't even do that.)

And, less important, but it would also be nice to be able to sort on my stars, instead of others'.

Thanks.

Hello

Actually I like having the rating of others and search with it; it allows me to choose a recipe off a book for example which I haven't tried, and I love to read the notes too. I zould hate to lose tha!

I think ideally you should have two different fields : your rating, and everyone rating (average of everyone yours included).

Yes, I'd like to be able to sort recipes according to my own ratings, too!

I just came here to suggest this! I like how netflix has it- average rating is one color, but once you rate a show, it just shows your rating but the stars are a different color so you knew it was your rating.

This feature is on our (very long) development to-do list. No idea when it will happen but it is planned.

Jane, it's been a while on this topic, but since nothing has been done yet to distiguish the user's rating stars from the stars of the EYB community, how about this simple addition.  In the recipe display options, under Sort By, in addition to "Rating" could you please add the option for "My Rating"?

Again, I use the ratings to see what others think to help choose a recipe BEFORE I make it, but I use my own rating to help decide what to make AFTER I have made it in the past.  Currently, combining the two doesn't allow this.

Thanks,

Ed

P.S. - Still would love to be able to display recipes by more than one bookmark at a time, instead doing two separate searches.  Categories help, but the new custom bookmarks capability is great, as long as I can search for two (or more) of my bookmarks at a time.

Just remember that without knowing how the database is set up on the back end, changes like this can be complicated and expensive to make, and can sometimes have a domino effect that needs to be thought out beforehand
