I'm a bachelor, new to this site and with a limited number of cookbooks in my personal library - but I'd like to fully utilize what I have.

Over the years I was given a "Magic Bullet" and a cast iron skillet. The Magic Bullet came with a small "10 Second Recipes" booklet, and the cast iron skillet came with a magazine called "Cast Iron Comfort Food" edited by Josh Miller. The cast iron magazine is from December of 2017 and the Magic Bullet booklet is older than that.

I'd like to index the recipes within on the website - manually, myself. Is there a way to do this?

You definitely can index those booklets. You can read more about member indexing in the Member Indexers Manual in our Help section.

The rules may initially seem quite complex but a lot of it is common sense and the more indexing you do, the more the rules become ingrained. We do a lot of hand-holding at the start. Deborah will help you by checking your first 10 recipes and Sydney will do a complete proofread with feedback after you finish. Apart from the benefit of getting all those recipes into your searches, it is also a good way for you to familiarize yourself with those publications (and discover recipes you want to bookmark). We recommend that new member indexers start with a simple, smaller cookbook on their shelves (which it seems like these booklets would be) - this gives you a chance to try out indexing and see if you like it before committing to larger books.

Because these booklets are not in the EYB Library and presumably do not have ISBN numbers we will need to add them to the Library for you. Can you please send details of the two books to [email protected] and she will set those up for you.

I indexed a few of my Cuisinart recipe booklets a few years ago if you'd like an example of how they look on in the Library once indexing is complete:
