If you have thousands of cookbooks, you will probably have these cataloged using some software at home. I use Readerware and have used one of the user columns to store a LocationCode that helps me remember where the book is. I have multiple library locations in my home so knowing the room, bookcase and shelf is a tremendous help.

This can be a simple six-character string that only has meaning to the user. It can be displayed beside the book title on searches.

You can also use the EYB Bookmarks to achieve the same thing. Set up Bookmarks all starting with the same word or letter e.g. L kitchen 1, L office 4, etc and then when you find a recipe you want to make, click the book title and see which location you have tagged to the book. If you are not familiar with our Bookmarks, view Tutorial #4 by clicking the green Need Help? button at bottom right (not available on phones). Or these Help sections.
