Hi,

I don't know if it's a data field that is kept somewhere in your database, but I would like to be able to sort my bookmarked recipes by the date I tagged them. I often find myself trying to find a particular recipe I made around a certain time, and not be sure of the exact ingredients to search for. It would be faster for me than to scan through the recipes listed by any of the current sort orders available right now, if I am not mistaken.

Thanks!

We don't keep that data. What I can suggest is that you add a Note for every recipe you make. Those Notes are marked with the date the Note was made and the sort on the Notes tab on your Profile page is latest first. So it is easy to scroll down to a certain date to see the Notes you made. You access your Profile page from the drop down menu under your username at top right.

Thanks, I will do that.

I just decided I would do that and I find that two private notes that I made yesterday for Clean living cookbook and Clean living fast food are not listed there so I went to the two books on my bookshelf and no notes are shown there but if I press the symbol, my notes come up.
Why don't they show up when I go to my profile and why doesn't it show on note symbol in bookshelf.
And another thing occasionally you see a book has 1 note but when you go there, it says this book has no notes.

Cati, not sure about your private notes questions, but I can answer your last one: the Notes icon in the Library/Books (or your Bookshelf/Books) includes the total # of member-provided notes, EYB-supplied notes, and EYB-linked reviews. So when you click on the "speech bubble" to go to the Book details page to see the notes, you might find "This book does not currently have any notes" on the Notes tab, but there would be something listed on the Reviews tab. See The Bowler's Meatball Cookbook for an example of this.

Well, it seems my private notes do not show on my profile, is this possible? I made a few of them in the past and they would be written in French. I just added one to check if what Cati described happened to me: yep! So maybe this only works with public notes? This would be a bore to other members to see a laconic note giving a "insider" description to a recipe.

IsaSim
I have started a new post about this problem called "Private notes".

The non-showing of Private Notes on your Profile page was something our developer said was because the Profile page is public. We have a different developer now so I will see if he thinks there is a way around it.

FWIW,from a user perspective I wouldn't care if my "private" notes were accessible or visible on my profile page.

I agree Trisha CP. The value of private notes is just so we don't clutter up the only 15 spaces for notes on the home page with comments of no interest to anyone else but ourselves. If they are on our profile at least we can find them, which at the moment there does not seem to be an easy way to do that, for currently added ones.
