Hi

Any plans for Google Home integration?

be great if I could stand in front of my book collection and ask rather than reverting to the study

We would love to integrate to Google Home and Amazon Echo but both are rather beyond our resources right now. Now if Google or Amazon want to make us an offer...

Be careful what you ask for, Jane. If Google or Amazon helps your search methods, they may one day wake up and decide to index every cookbook themselves (on their way to world domination). Best case is they buy you, worst (most likely) case is they do an automated version of what EYB does. May be best to stay under the radar ...

Ed, I have long thought that a partnership between Amazon and EYB would be a natural.  Amazon could probably do something about indexing and potentially gain the ability to sell digital access to individual recipes (with the agreement of the publisher and copyright owner, of course).  It would be something like selling individual songs from recorded albums.  There's potential for additional incremental sales, and some possible marketing promotions, such as selling a subset of a cookbook that could be upgraded to the full cookbook, allowing customers to try before fully buying.  Even if Amazon kept to doing indexing (with the payoff being increased sales), this would increase the value of EYB to potential users and swell its user base.  Just sayin'...

(As someone who has experienced the high-tech startup thing, I also see Amazon as a potential invester or even an exit strategy for EYB, should the EYB shareholders ever be interested in either a cash infusion or in realizing the cash value of what they have built.)

Agreed. Don't make a fuss and keep doing what you are doing. I am not even sure how this integration would work..." blah blah give me recipes with mushrooms and parsley" Now you get 1752 matches. What is Google Home or Alexa supposed to do? Nah.
