Ed, I have long thought that a partnership between Amazon and EYB would be a natural. Amazon could probably do something about indexing and potentially gain the ability to sell digital access to individual recipes (with the agreement of the publisher and copyright owner, of course). It would be something like selling individual songs from recorded albums. There's potential for additional incremental sales, and some possible marketing promotions, such as selling a subset of a cookbook that could be upgraded to the full cookbook, allowing customers to try before fully buying. Even if Amazon kept to doing indexing (with the payoff being increased sales), this would increase the value of EYB to potential users and swell its user base. Just sayin'...
(As someone who has experienced the high-tech startup thing, I also see Amazon as a potential invester or even an exit strategy for EYB, should the EYB shareholders ever be interested in either a cash infusion or in realizing the cash value of what they have built.)
