What are you doing with your old copy of Ottolenghi's "Sweet"?   Go to last post Go to last unread

I received my new corrected copy of "Sweet" several weeks ago and decided to pass on my old, uncorrected copy to my son, who is now getting very interested in baking.  But first I took an hour or so this morning and carefully cut out each correction item from the addendum sheet and taped it onto the  corresponding recipe.  I have noticed copies of "Sweet" beginning to appear on Goodwillbooks.com and wondered if people are just donating their old, uncorrected copies.  Are they including a copy of the addendum with the book?  If not, why not?  This doesn't seem honest or fair to the unsuspecting person who may buy your old uncorrected copy at a thrift store without realizing how full of errors it is.  What are you doing and how do you feel about just selling or donating your old copy without the corrections included?

I have the errata printed out and tucked into the book. If I donate it, it will go with it. If I share with a friend, it will go with it. Good question!

I gave mine to a friend with a printed out sheet of the corrections inside.

I wrote in the changes by hand and I'm giving it to a friend who likes to bake.

I put mine in the recycle bin with corrections enclosed. Anyone who cares enough to pluck it out of the pile probably won’t mind cooking from two separate pages. That said, I must add that I’m impressed with Ten Speed Press’s dedicated efforts to get the corrected 2nd edition into the hands of those who bought the 1st, flawed edition. Well done, Ten Speed Press.

I gave my old copy with the errata sheet to my friend.  I hope it will be put to good use.
