EYB could make indexing go much faster and be more accurate by the use of OCR electronic highlighter pens (https://www.amazon.com/s...&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_14). I realize that for this to work in real life, there would need to be some changes to the data architecture for ingredients so I'm proposing a longer term goal rather than an immediate implementation.
It would also make it practical to support most special diets by automatically determining if a recipe is gluten free, vegan, shell-fish free (for allergies), ovo-pisco vegetarian, et. al.
