I like to check recipes under "I want to cook this", but it is hard to sort with author.  Any possible addition of book or magazine titles added in there for sorting?

What issue do you have when sorting by author? You first filter your recipe results by the bookmark "I've cooked this" then use the Sort in the green search bar by Author. You now have all the recipes sorted A-Z by author name. It is not currently possible to also sort by book or magazine title within a recipe search. I will add that option to our developers' to-do list.

It is for "I want to cook this".  By book title or magazine name instead of author.

Apologies, I meant to type "I want to cook this". But the same principle applies - you can sort by author name but not by book/magazine/blog name. We will get that added as a feature.

I actually have a couple of sorting requests as well.

This might be easy, and doesn't require new interface. When sorting by rating, it would be nice if it also sub-sorted by number of notes. So a 5 star with 3 notes recipe would come before a 5 star with 2 notes recipe and so on. It's easy to award stars; if you've taken time to note a recipe, that means something.

The second request is a bit more vague. I'm not sure exactly what I want. This is more a "take me out of my comfort zone" or "surprise me" request. I guess I want a way to show the most rated and noted over the last month, year or all time. Something like that, I'm not sure exactly.

Thank you Jane.  With magazines, the right side filter helps because my magazines are in groups at home.  I will try to work with alphabetical or author names for books.

Fyretigger - I would need to consult our developers on how a sub-sort works within a ranking. But the Buzz sort is a combination of number of ratings and number of Notes - so would I think achieve some of what you want.

A random recipe generator is on our developers' to-do list. But one way to do it for yourself is to change the sort order of your recipe results and see what's different on the first page. Or say "I'll take the first recipe on the 3rd page".
