This may have been discussed in the past so sorry if so, but I was wanting to suggest an ingredient substitutions/variations button.
The reason is that currently these display under the name of the dish in the same way that a review of a recipe from a member who has cooked it would (eg. the #1 in the box below the title for example) and I am always clicking on a recipe to see the review - only to discover it’s a recommended substitution note and there are no reviews yet. Although these substitution notes are helpful too, I would really love to see that under a different button so I could scan for recipe reviews more easily.
Just my thoughts, not sure if anyone else has the same issue when looking for reviews before deciding to cook a recipe or not, but I would love to see those substitution notes separated from the reviews somehow.

Just took a closer look and I think it’s complicated by the fact that recipe reviews are usually posted under notes not under the review button (I am guilty of that same thing) I guess a recipe review should not be a note?
But also on the landing page before clicking on a recipe there is only a note button no review button so if reviews were put under the review button they wouldn’t show until you clicked on a recipe, whereas notes do.
So we should be reviewing under the recipe review button right? Not leaving a note as a review?

The reviews are for links to external reviews. As members, we can't leave reviews under that tab.

Actually - I second this demand => personnally 1/ I have the same problem as foodgloriousfood, looking for recipes by buzz or wanting to see what other member thought of different recipes with say apple and celery, and ending up having a couple of recipes with comments, and then maybe 50 with one comment, the majority of which being for substitution but more importantlly, 2/ when I look at a recipe, it would be nice to have the substitution notes visible right there in the main tab, rather than having to go in the notes tab -> I have missed a few substitutions tips that way (OK that being said, I can usually figure substitutions myself, but not always!) -> yes, I can check the book that is true, but it would still be useful to have it there in a visible place on the main tab, in a different location than Notes

But you know, just wishlist :)

It is on our developers to-do list to remove EYB Comments from the Notes count so substitution notes will not affect Buzz rankings. When you say move EYB Comments to Main tab I assume you mean the Recipe Details tab e.g. on this recipe for Cauliflower cake you would see the EYB Comment "This recipe is on p.246 in the US edition." at the bottom below the Ingredients list? I also assume we should keep the EYB Comment pinned at the top of Notes as well? Anyone else have a view on this? So any substitution, page number note, errata, marinating time, etc that we include in EYB Comments would appear on the Ingredients page as well as at the top of Notes. But not on the recipe listing in search.

Reviews are external reviews of a book or recipe by media or blogs. Notes are EYB member comments on the book or recipe.
