Scroll function for latest notes   Go to last post Go to last unread

I love the possibility to see the latest notes. I have used it several times to find inspiration for dinner if I am in a hurry or our plans have changed at last minute.

Would it be possible to add a scroll function to the latest notes, so it is possible to see more than four notes? Today I took a quick look at the latest notes at lunchtime at work, found a recipe I liked, but I forgot to make a note of it. Now the recipe is gone from latest notes.

You read our minds!  Our developer is just now working on adding a "see more" function that will allow you to see many more of the latest Notes added by members.  We are also adding a feature to members' profile pages that will list all the comments you have made - great for you to check back but also for members who like your reviews to see what else you have commented on.

I also am finding the Notes really helpful - I saw your note Tommelise about the Roasted broccoli and farro salad with feta dish and made it that night and it was excellent.  I probably wouldn't have come across it, or at least not for a while, if I hadn't seen your note.

More members seem to be adding Notes which is great - the more who do it, the more useful the site becomes.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I will be looking forward to the new features as I would love to take a look at other members notes. I often find that if I like a note from a particular member I often like the rest of the note I come accross from the same member.

Having access to my own notes will also give me a chance to find and edit the note I left on a recipe in Danish in the early days of EYB - I am not sure it is of any help to other members LOL

It’s a good thing that more members are adding notes. I believe you will see that yet more members will be inclined to leave note, when they see their own notes.

I am glad you enjoyed the broccoli farro salad, I too find it is a great recipe :)

Oh I almost forgot. Thanks for the list of recent notes, I found the recipe I was looking for.

The latest release of the site which went up recently includes a couple of features requested in this topic.  You can now see the latest 15 Notes on the home page, not just the latest 5.  Just click on the 2nd and 3rd circles at the bottom of the Notes.  Also every member who has posted Notes now has a Notes total in their stats and a Notes tab on their Profile page.  This displays all the Notes they have made, in date order.  Also, you may have noticed all Notes now show book title as well as the cover image.

When commenting on recipes, how do we decide whether to put in notes or reviews.the posted comments look fairly similar in both columns?

Members add their comments as notes. The Reviews section is for published reviews from news outlets, NPR, blogs, etc and these cannot be added by members. Would love to hear your comments about recipes you've tried!

Thanks so much Jane & Fiona!  Just chiming in to say how much I love these new features.  I had no idea how many dishes I'd made and reviewed.  Somehow seeing a total made me feel a little better about my cookbook addiction! I'm using my books so much more since I discovered EYB!  Thanks once again, EYB just keeps getting better and better!
