I wonder why Nigel's publishers find it necessary to alter titles for the US market - eg the UK "Tender II" becomes "Ripe" and I guess "Kitchen Diaries II" is the same as the US "Appetite"?

This causes confusion as people might buy effectively the same book twice, under different titles.

I have no idea why the titles are sometimes changed; 'Ripe' was particularly unfortunate because Cheryl Sternman Rule, a US writer, had a cookbook out at the same time with that title [also about fruit].

But Appetite is not an example of the phenomenon; it's the same title as the UK edition: Appetite: What Do You Want to Eat Today?  The US version of the second volume of the Kitchen Diaries is, as far as I know, not yet out, but I assume (and hope) it will also be called Kitchen Diaries II.

@Ray and anyone looking into US/UK editions of cookbooks published on both sides of the Atlantic:

Clicking on an author's name takes you to the author page, where all their books are listed in alphabetical order by title.  This can be especially helpful in tracing multiple editions/reprintings of the same book.  If you want to look at an author's books sorted another way, e.g. publication date, then you have to do a search in the Library using the author's name, and specify the sort order (the default is date indexed).

Found another one - Tessa Kiros's "Recipes and Dreams from an Italian Life" has just appeared  on Amazon Uk. It is apparently the same book as "Limoncello and Linen Water"
