As I have indexed a few books now I am starting to get more familiar with the handy shortcut codes for ingredients, eg, 'ss' for soy sauce. However I have noticed one small thing - when I type a 2-letter shortcut code (or type the full ingredient), I am able to immediately just press enter to index that ingredient. But when I use a 3-letter shortcut code (eg, 'cdt' for canned diced tomatoes), pressing enter doesn't do anything, I have to either press down then enter to select the ingredient in the dropdown, or click on it.

Just wondering if this is intentional or if it could be amended? I know its only 1 extra keystroke to do, but every little helps to save a bit of time (especially for frequent indexers) :)

When we started having ingredient shortcut codes they were all two letters and just needed the Enter to add them, as you mention. But as the list expanded we realized we needed more options than two letters so we expanded to three letters. For reasons not very clear these developers had a different way of adding the ingredient, as you outline. It is on their (very long) to-do list to make the two-letter and three-letter codes consistent.
