Hi, I'm new to eatyourbooks so apologies if I am asking a question that has already been covered.

I have set up a filing system on my eatyourbooks using bookmarks similar to the one I use for other recipe filing eg, beef, lamb, deserts cold, deserts hot, vegetables etc. Then when I am looking to make, say a lamb recipe, I look under the entries under that heading. This works for all the recipes I have extracted from my books into my bookmark filing system. I find, however, that I cannot bookmark online recipes from blogs etc, I can only save these into my bookshelf. Is there a way round this because I would like to include my favourite online recipes in my own bookmarked files so that all the recipes I want are grouped in the same place.
Hope that makes sense to other users.

Hi Sheila,

You should be able to bookmark online recipes you have added using the Bookmarklet (or that you have found in our online recipe Library) in the same way that you bookmark recipes from your cookbooks. A few things to keep in mind:

1. The recipe must have been added to your Bookshelf before you try to add a Bookmark.

2. If you are on the Recipe Details page when you click the blue "+Bookshelf" button, you will need to refresh the page in order for your Bookmark options to appear.

3. If you are browsing the online recipe Library when you click the blue "+Bookshelf" button, you need to click on the recipe in order to add Bookmarks to it (or open it in a new tab). Bookmark options are not available while doing general searching in the Library. Bookmark options are only available while browsing/searching your Bookshelf or when you are on the Recipe Details page of any recipe that has already been added to your Bookshelf.

4. When you add a recipe using the Bookmarklet, there is a Bookmark field where you can choose which Bookmarks to add as you are indexing the recipe. If you forget or need to add additional Bookmarks later, you would need to wait until the recipe is proofread, approved, and appearing on your Bookshelf to add Bookmarks.

And finally, I saw that you recently did add a few recipes using the Bookmarklet, which I proofread and approved last night. We are currently experiencing a delay in some of these recipes appearing on the site which we are investigating. We can assure you they have not been lost and they will be appearing on your shelf soon.

I hope that helps and please do let us know if you are still having trouble or have any further questions.

I knew there had to be a way of doing it. Your instructions worked perfectly. Thanks for the other helpful hints and for your prompt response.
