When viewing the recipes page on EYB, on the right sidebar there is always the option to only show Book Recipes, Magazine Recipes, Online Recipes, etc. and then just below that, it says "My Bookmarks" with dropdowns to select to show only recipes that have been tagged with a given bookmark. However, when viewing a book's page, and then clicking through to "Search this book for Recipes", there is no such dropdown in the same "Only Show" section. Why is that? Before EYB I used to sometimes pull down a book I hadn't cooked from in a while (or ever) and page through it to see what recipes I had sticky-noted or dog-eared to try, and I'd like to do the digital version of that by going to a certain book's page and filtering to view only recipes I've tagged as "I want to cook this" or any other bookmark.

The search functionality here isn't always the most intuitive to me, so maybe I'm missing a way to do this?

This came up sometime last year on the forum and I think I've found the explanation for you from the previous thread:

"When you click "Search this book for recipes" you are in the Library, where your Bookmarks are not available. To see your own Bookmarks you need to search on your Bookshelf. So go to My Bookshelf, Recipes tab and enter the book title in the search box - put it in speech/quotation marks for accuracy. Now you will see your bookmark filters on the right side."

I think this helps ... I just keep forgetting how to do it!

Thanks FJT - that explanation is correct.

Thanks, I vaguely remembered a discussion about this but the forum search function wasn’t working so I couldn’t find it.

The above works in most cases, but there are cases where it isn’t so straightforward. For instance, I have a book called simply “Cupcakes”. Obviously if I search that it includes hundreds of recipes, as well as all the recipes in the 5 other cookbooks I have that include the word “cupcakes” in the title. I need to refine by adding the author’s name, which is kind of a pain in the butt, especially when it is a long name. Simply clicking a book on my bookshelf would be much easier.

I know this seems like a minor quibble but it makes the site’s functionality way less seamless for me. Still, I’ll use the above method unless/until things change. Thanks again.
