I noticed in your instructions on how to sign in and put your name in for the cookbook give aways that there had been problems in contacting winners. Why couldn't you post the winners in the forum, even just the user names and the book they've won, under an appropriately named topic. With instructions on how to contact you of course. Then we could watch that topic to see if our names ever come up.

Karen - I will start a post doing just that. The problem is that folks don't check their spam/junk folders and I have to send multiple e-mails which takes a great deal of time.

How have the notifications been fomatted that they were always expected to go into spam/junk?

Of course our emails are not expected to go into spam/junk and the majority do not. However a lot of spam filters are very sensitive to emails from corporate accounts. We do ask members to add @eatyourbooks.com to their safe senders list so this doesn't happen. Also some members sign up with email accounts that they use for memberships and they don't check them often enough.

Jenny in some cases has to send multiple emails asking winners to contact us with their mailing address so we can mail the book to them. After 3 emails she gives up and selects another winner. So we hope that by adding this Forum topic we may alert members in another way that they are a winner.

How about making it a requirement to provide address if participating in these giveaways? I notice that some only come here to sign up for free giveways and never become members.

Many people are resistant to providing personal information to websites. For that reason we ask for the minimum we can - email, username and password. We are aware that there are people who only join EYB to enter giveaways but we hope they become interested enough in our service to explore the site a bit - and maybe even upgrade to Premium one day.
