Uses for cooked mushrooms   Go to last post Go to last unread

I just made mushroom stock with a combination of old mushroom caps and a boatload of mushroom stems. The stock is good, now what if anything can one do with the cooked mushrooms? I know they have released a lot of their flavor into the stock, but maybe they are usable? TIA.

How about in rice or eggs?

Try adding them to a tomato sauce for pasta.

Maybe for things that need structure rather than a lot of flavor, for instance replacing breadcrumbs in meatballs?

Make mushroom pickles by letting them soak up flavors of pickling sauce.
