Hello everyone,

I have been looking for a recipe for a dish by Cyrus Todiwala for ages "Mutton Kofta with Rice". I had that dish back in 2011 at The Big Feastival in Clapham Common. The recipe cannot be found anywhere online, and it's not in any of his own books. I suspect that the recipe might be featuring in The Big Feastival Cookbook by Jamie Oliver, which was released at the very same time as when the festival took place, but sadly, this book is now almost impossible to find. I was wondering if any of the members who have this book on their "Eat Your Books" bookshelf would kindly share its index? Having a list of the ingredients for this recipe would be amazing, as I could then find ways to figure out the method. Thank you kindly! Cynthia

Hi Cyncynini.

I'm afraid I don't have this book and as only 32 members have it on their bookshelf, I suspect that you may be unlucky in your quest for the ingredients.

My suggestion is to email Cafe Spice Namaste, explain the situation and hope that Cyrus Todiwala would give you the recipe.  I did find a second hand copy of The Big Feastival Cookbook at £50, so I can understand that is not an option for you.

Good luck with your search.

Hi Pamsy,

You're right about contacting Cafe Spice Namaste. I've thought about it too, but thought that they are probably too busy to answer this kind of query. Anyway, I'm going to try, I have nothing to lose after all ;)

Thanks for your reply :)

Hi Cyncynini,

I just spotted the Jamie Oliver book on ebay. For some reason I am unable to paste a link here but if you search for item number 142873849766 that should bring it up for you.

Good luck
Theresa

Have you had any luck yet? Why not consider adapting his kofta sauce recipe and making your own mutton (goat/sheep) meatballs? Maybe adapt from this recipe of his for Egg & Game kofta curry ...
