I feature I really liked on the Cookbooker site was the section on the Home page which had the most recents notes (activity) on recipes from the books on your personal shelf. That was a great feature which allowed you to see the very latest posts on recipes that you have on your shelf from others in the community.
I'm curious...are you suggesting something different from clicking on "my bookshelf" then "notes / reviews"? I use that to see only the notes from my own bookshelf and it does start with the most recent ones.
That's what I have always done as well. It's really handy once you realise where to find it.
On the other hand, if I don't restrict to those books only on my shelf, I see recipes which lead me to check out unknown (to me) books, which leads me to look for those books for sale, which leads me to...well, you know.
I also read both "sets" of member notes depending on my time constraints. I always learn something (ideas for substitutions, useful tips, books I should research more re: purchasing) from the full set of notes. Sometimes I will look for similar recipes in my own books based on what was said about a recipe . I also look for member names who I know have many of the same books I do or have a similar palate / cooking style to see what they are cooking. If I'm short on time, a quick scan of my bookshelf comments is often a good inspiration for meal planning or a trigger to try a recipe I've been bypassing.
I never knew this! So helpful, thank you.
