Would like to suggest the addition of a menu planner tool so we can reference our books, create our shopping lists and plan all on one site.  Thank you.  :)

That is something we would like to add as part of our revamp of the shopping list when we design the mobile interface.  You can of course use Bookmarks as Menus e.g. name a Bookmark "Dinner with in-laws" or "Thanksgiving 2012" then save the recipes you want to it.  Then when you are putting together your shopping list, search by Bookmark and save each recipe to the shopping list.

I second this - would LOVE to see a menu planner or calendar tool added! I am using the bookmarks similar to how you suggested ("This Week" for example), it's a little cumbersome but works in the meantime.  Just wanted to put my "vote" in favor! :)

A menu planner would be excellent! Ideally, it would recommend options based on themes (eg Easter Dinner) and then possible recipes from myBookshelf (eg lamb appetizers, lemon and berry dessert, etc). I need help planning memorable dinner party menus!

EatYourBooks is my favorite "go to" site for cooking. Thank you for building such a usable service!!!

All these posts are from four years ago, so I guess nothing ever came of this idea. My main problem is that while browsing recipes, I often see something I would like to make - and then forget about it completely. I have a very nice app called FoodPlanner, where I can add recipe names on the fly, and leave the ingredients and stuff till later, just so that I can add the idea to a menu plan. The app also keeps track of when last you made something, and how often you make it if you make it more than once. Now, if I could link my bookshelf to that app... or get a meal planner added here... that would be very awesome.

We have a very long development to-do list of all the features we would like to add when we have the resources to do so. In the meantime, use Bookmarks to tag recipes. You can set up category tags such as dinner party desserts, vegetarian dinners, Thanksgiving sides, etc then whenever you see a recipe you want to save for the future you add that Bookmark. Then when you are for example planning a dinner party, you can filter out all the recipes you saved.

You can also set up Bookmarks as menus then add that tag to all the recipes for the event. In order to find them easily, start with the same name then add either the date or the occasion e.g. Menu - brunch spring or Menu - dinner 4/11/16. Then add the recipes to that menu and you can recall it in the future. Add Notes to the recipes (you can make them private if they just relate to you) and you have a record of the event.
