Chelsea Market doesn't have the range of stores that it did pre-pandemic. The store for kitchen equipment is gone, for instance. Here in Manhattan there is no place that's one-stop, but it's fun to go to the specialty stores: Kalustyan's for spices, Arthur Avenue (in the Bronx) and Di Palo's for Italian ingredients, the Hong Kong Supermarket for Chinese ingredients, Sixth Avenue between 8th and 13th Streets for Japanese ingredients, and ethnic neighborhoods for specific ethnic ingredients. Queens County has many. The Bowery has restaurant supply stores that sell retail. These places make New York City livable as well as fun to visit.
