I wanted to give you an answer- filter by “how-to” but when I searched applesauce and got over 1200 recipes then filtered—> recipe types—> misc—> how to… I got three recipes two of which were for barbecue sauce and one for meatloaf. None contain applesauce ?!?

Unfortunately, we added the How to... tag several years after we launched so there are a lot of recipes that need the tag that are not yet tagged. However, a better way to find recipes FOR something rather than recipes using that ingredient is to filter by the recipe type. But I'm afraid there we also fail you since applesauce does not have a recipe type since it isn't a sauce but a fruit puree. You can try Jim's suggestion below or search your Bookshelf by Apples in the filter Ingredients / Fruit / Apples, pears / Apples and sauce in word search. Then do an alpha sort. Jump to Apple sauce in the results - for Online Recipes they start on page 9 on results though it will be different for your Bookshelf.

KatieK1- google "basic applesauce" ... here's the results at this link .. I know its not EYB but its a load of very easy recipes .. as Jane says its just an apple puree .. add flavourings of your choice.!!
