Adding a date ranger filter to Library > Books   Go to last post Go to last unread

Hi!

I was looking for a way to see which books came out so far in 2025. Or, for example, to be able to see which books came out in 2024 and sort em by popularity.

If i go to books now i just get a long list of 170.000 books, which i can sort on popularity, but then i see books from 10 years ago, while it would be more interesting to see for example which books are owned or looked into the most of the last 6 months.

So in other words, a date range filter :)

Thanks for reading!

Hi Richard, you've hit on one of my frustrations too. I can never find a way to see only the cookbooks have been published in the last few months, or in this year, or the past 6 months. I'd love something that enables that.

There is a sort option by Date published in the Library - open the sort menu in the green search bar. You can also filter the result to just see Indexed books by selecting that filter on the right (or in Filter menu on a phone).

You can also view Jenny's blog post on notable books published each year. This is the 2025 list, the 2024 list and the 2023 list.

Jenny also produces a monthly summary of the books published each month.

The frustration for me is that there are many books entered that are not yet published - often quite a number of pages of them. Filtering for indexed books removes recent publicationns that are not yet indexed. Even having a "published books" filter would be fabulous.

Jenny's summaries are good, but I am more wanting to scroll through the books rather than click on multiple links.

Hi Jane,

I'm aware of the links you posted, and i also enjoy reading them whenever they are published. But i also agree with what Ganga108 posted, and want to add to that that i also think it can be valuable to be able to see the popular, or buzz books for a certain time period, by EYB members.

I hope you would at least consider it. I don't think the site load/performance would take a hit, because you no longer apply the filtering on all 170.000 books, since the date range would make the retrieved data smaller.
