It wasn't in the Forum but on the Community page in the Buzz feature there was a link to an article about smokers.  I'm reproducing it below (the link is in the header).

Review of smokers

Thinking of investing in a smoker? Before you do, check out The Washington Post's summary of the best on the market, from $200 to $12,000.

I've both an offset smoker (hot) and a cold smoker, although the later doesn't work if the air temp is much over 70. Both work well for my purposes.

I have used a smoke shack smokette for three years. Simple to use. Uses small wood chunks. Very good hot smoked meat and fish.

The cold smoker came from here http://www.northerntool....sing+smokers-accessories and the offset was Home Depot, not certain of the brand. Texas something, probably made in China.

Northern Tool has some really good deals on kitchen equipment, often at half the price of speciality marketeers. I bought both my meat grinder and sausage stuffer from them, at the recomendation of CIA.

While there seems to be a spell checker checking, I have found no way to activate the substitution process.
