Browsing through the library was a lot more fun before the seemingly hundreds of "classic reprints" cluttered the site. Having a filter to opt out of seeing the classic reprints is the suggestion here. Just saying.

I noticed these as well.  Did you find a way to filter them out ploughmandad?  I like to look at through books recently Published but aborted my mission last week because there were so many of those books.

ploughmandad, you can exclude words/phrases from search results by typing a "minus sign" (-) before your search term, so -"classic reprints" (use quotation marks to exclude the exact phrase) in EYB Library/Books will filter those out, and you can sort the result by Date Published if that's what you're interested in seeing.  Note that a lot of the most "recently published" books are forthcoming later in 2015 or even 2016, as EYB acquires quite a bit of bibliographic data on pre-publication titles.

Thanks, Deborah. That helps a lot. And, yes, learning about books that will be published months from now, even into 2016, adds to the enjoyment and anticipation of upcoming purchases. Love the site.

That's interesting that there are so many of those books appearing.  I go through every month's new releases in order to produce the new cookbooks post each month.  In the last few months I started deleting every Createspace book (Amazon's self-published books) as they generally seemed to be of poor quality and no EYB members owned them.  They therefore seemed to be cluttering up the Library for no reason.  I wonder whether the 'Classic reprints' might be the same.  Does anyone feel they should be kept in the Library?

I must not have been browsing the Library as much as I used to, because I hadn't seen one of the classic reprints until reading this post.

Having looked over the results of a search on "classic reprints" (without the minus <g>), I see that all 600+ have been added to the library since the beginning of 2015.  While the catalog / list of titles might be an interesting slice of culinary history, none of the 600+ listings have been added to any member's Bookshelf yet.  My vote would be to do a blog post on the existence of the series with some information on and link to the "publisher" (I'm assuming these are on-demand titles), and ditch them from the Library.  Any member who happens to get a particular book in the series can always ask for it to be added.

I really like ellabee's excellent suggestion.  I suspect that folks who own these books would be the exception rather than the norm so best to cater to the majority and remove them from the library and folks can add them in as they wish.  Thanks for asking us Jane!

I looked at a few of them on Amazon to see the publication date and some were published a few years ago. Odd. I agree with Ellabee and Breadcrumbs.
