Sharing indexes and photos for personal recipes?   Go to last post Go to last unread

Hello

I was wondering if there was a plan down the line to have the option to make indexes for personal recipes public, but of course identify them so as "Member personal recipes" or something.

That would allow me to share recipes I have invented (e.g. pear tatin with munster cheese and cumin, or savoury tomato and basil tiramisu), or original recipes I find and adapt from foreign languages website (i.e. yesterday I cooked a leek and shallot tart with a cream cheese and beer filling, which I adapted from a French blog).

I know I can already index them personally, but we are all passionate cooks here with different ethnicities, countries, interests and backgrounds... I would love to hear about them all!

Just an idea, anyway :) What do you think?

None of the recipes have instructions, are you using one of the fields to include that as well?

If this were to be implemented, I'd prefer a check box to share/not option.  I have several recipes from a sweet old lady who threatened me with bodily harm if I passed her recipes. While I know she'd never actually hurt someone over a recipe, I'd like to be able to have her recipe here and honor her wishes to not share it with the world :)

Yes, that would be fun.  It would be very helpful too if recipes posted would have some indication that they have actually been made and not just copied and shared. And certainly, whether to share or not need to be optional.

Yes completely - I was suggesting option to share or not share :)

Some recipes I would love to share, especially the ones I create, or the some unique French regional recipes that are less known abroad, or twisted beyond recognition (Truffade, Pounti, Mouclade, Carbonade Flamande, Tarte au myrtille, Tarte a la tomme...)

Other recipes, especially classics with my unique special twist and special ingredient, no :)

I think from the title and the ingredients you can figure out if you would like to know more, then use maybe a specific forum thread or notes to indicate interest (BTW messaging would be a nice feature too :)

Yes that is true. Though if anybody did that (copy and paste! shame !) that would defeat the purpose :(
