Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Aztec cookies

    • Ro_ on January 13, 2020

I used regular dark chocolate as I'm not fond of coffee flavour. These were very nice chocolate cookies, with a perfect cookie texture.

  • Pick 'n' mix rolls

    • Ro_ on January 09, 2023

I read this too quickly and ended up mixing all the ingredients in the first step. I followed the rest of the recipe leaving out the bit where you added the other ingredients and kneaded a lot, and suprisingly they came out fine (but I think I'd have had more puffiness if I'd followed strictly). I think they needed more salt. These were nice rolls though.

  • Little bridge rolls

    • Ro_ on January 07, 2021

Very nice little rolls. I did the second prove overnight, and was worried they hadn't risen much and would be very close, but in fact the texture was great and the crust was perfect - not too crusty, not too soft. My only regret is that I just ground in a bit of salt without measuring, and it wasn't enough. I'll make these again, great with soup or as the book suggests with pulled pork or something delicious inside, as alternatives to sliders for example.

  • Roast beef tartlets

    • Ro_ on January 09, 2023

These were easy and delicious. I would make again but in bite-size so they could be served as finger food, as I don't very often have cause to serve a "'starter" sized tart like this.

  • Divine chocolate layer cake

    • joneshayley on August 17, 2019

Lovely and relatively easy if time consuming- it’s soooo rich though- a chocolate lovers dream

Reviews about Recipes in this Book

  • Mary's treacle tart

    • Fuss Free Flavours

it’s stuck a little between a rock and a hard place in terms of assumptions of skill and experience. Treacle tart is pretty straightforward, so if you’ve made it before you don’t really need a recipe
