Notes about Recipes in this book

  • PDQ broccoli-cheese soup

    • dianev on August 08, 2015

Lives up to its name. Good taste, easy and fast. Have made several times.

  • Speedy black bean soup

    • dianev on February 24, 2015

This recipe made the purchase of the book worthwhile. I make it over and over. Wonderful flavor in a vegetarian quick soup made from pantry ingredients.

  • Chicken tortilla soup

    • dianev on February 24, 2015

Good balanced flavor from simple ingredient list. Make a big batch and freeze in smaller portions.

  • Kielbasa, cabbage, and potatoes

    • dianev on February 24, 2015

Who knew mustard was great on cabbage? Be careful that the cabbage doesn't singe as it cooks.

  • White bean and chicken chili

    • ellencooks on August 06, 2015

I've made this many, many times. It goes together quickly but has tons of flavor.

  • Stovetop barbecued chicken

    • dianev on August 08, 2015

I added a few squeezes of bottled barbecue sauce at the end to thicken and add more flavor. Started with frozen chicken. Very fast and easy.

  • Flexible jambalaya

    • dianev on August 08, 2015

A real mishmash. Made three meals for two people.

  • Topsail spaghetti

    • dianev on August 08, 2015

Have also made this with "Mexican" tomatoes, cumin, chipotle, chili powder, a little oregano.

  • Apollo's pasta

    • kateiscoooking on March 10, 2017

Used a whole tin of rolled anchovies. Melted most of them into the sauce and heated the sauce. Used a can of diced tomatoes plus the juice. Added a good number of capers too. Omitted the red wine vinegar. We loved the feta cheese on top. This would also make a great chilled pasta salad.

  • Sloppy Janes

    • dianev on February 24, 2015

So much better than the mixes and very quick to make.

  • Hot cats with fish camp tartar sauce

    • dianev on August 08, 2015

Sprinkle fish with Cajun Seasoning before flouring.

  • Garlic cheese drop biscuits

    • dianev on August 08, 2015

      Just like at Red Lobster.
