      Absolutely delicious. The tarts look raggedly when first made, but freezing them is a brilliant stroke.

      Excellent, and very easy. I used my regular pie dough (not sweetened) and a mix of Granny Smith, Sweet Tango and Jazz apples, and used cardamom as the seasoning. Sprinkled turbinado sugar over the dough and top of the apples. It even warmed up well the next day.

      Quick and easy tart shell for all kinds of fruit tarts. Love the fact that this dough is made via the creaming method and does not require a rolling pin.

      Excellent! Made in a rectangular tart pan with wild blueberries as suggested, looked really pretty. Very similar to the "Cream tart with black raspberries", but less sweet. Maybe because of the addition of coconut sugar instead of maple sugar in the filling?

      Update: this tart is still a regular summer bake in our household, and no matter which sugar I use in the filling, it is perfect for those who are not into cloyingly sweet desserts like my family is.

      Delicious with all kinds of berries, especially wild blueberries. Have made several times already with big success.

      This was simple enough to make, but it's closer to a cake than to a tart. There is no crispness or bite to the crust. Great for a quick dessert or with coffee, but it's not a tart.

      Finally, a tasty recipe that uses all those gooseberries my husband grows in his garden! I must have rolled the dough a bit too thin because the filling exploded through in several places. Wish Debra Madison had been a bit more specific about the size to roll the dough. Definitely recommend this if you like a lip-puckering pie & can find gooseberries.

  • Fresh and dried cranberry, orange, and walnut tart

      Beautiful and flexible tart that tastes like Christmas on a plate. The pate brisee is enhanced with brown sugar and orange zest. In my filling, I used thawed frozen cranberries in lieu of fresh, dried cherries in lieu of dried cranberries, sliced tangerine instead of sliced orange, and a mix of pecans and walnuts. Turned out well.

      Delicious but I'm not convinced that corn flour has an advantage over other flours e.g. a wheat and barley mix.

    I can, however, advocate that you buy this cookbook. Because, especially if you like fruit. And dessert. I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed. Just ask my mother.

    While she speaks from a place of a regular farmers' market customer, there is nothing in this book that can't be made with fruit from your own backyard or your corner supermarket.

      The wine is simmered down with crushed peppercorns then tossed with fresh berries. We slurped this one up with a dollop of fresh cream and licked the corners of our mouths. Some licked the bowl.
