An absolutely decadent slice. You can not stop at one slice!

Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Gruyère and fennel tarts

    • RosieB on March 17, 2015

These are delicious. Make your own pastry if you have time. But otherwise sustitute a good quality bought pastry.

  • Oxtail with Rioja and chorizo

    • RosieB on August 14, 2016

This was delicious although I did add a can of crushed tomatoes to give more liquid. So unctuous, it was real comfort food.

  • Baby blueberry and walnut cakes

    • RosieB on March 17, 2015

These are nice easy little cakes. Great for morning for afternoon tea.

  • Chocolate crunch

    • Hellyloves2cook on September 14, 2013

So easy to make and makes plenty. I keep this in the fridge all the time- great for lunch box treats.

  • Crispy potatoes with butter and herbs

    • fairyduff on February 01, 2020

Brilliant dish! I will never again need to rely on freezer fries; these quick to prepare sliced potatoes took less than a minute to get on the tray and into the oven, and the family loved them. Medium sized potatoes that fit neatly down the tube of the processor, unpeeled. Onto a pizza tray and into the oven. (for my own reference: set slicer to 4)

Manna from Heaven is a book for everyone who loves food and flavours. Rachel Grisewood is the founder of Manna from Heaven, the bakery of the same name. Discover her fabulous lemon polenta cake, decadently rich chocolate and hazelnut praline cake, buttery raspberry brioches with honey, taleggio and walnut tarts, the famous chocolate crunch, and more. But this is more than just a cookbook. Above all, it's a sweet story - about cooking and cakes, warmth and family, nurturing and life, messiness and love.
