  • Turner's Boston clam chowder

  • Crab cakes Maryland

    • PennyG on June 07, 2020

This is a solid recipe for crab cakes. I’ve used it many times over the years!

  • Collard greens

    • Bloominanglophile on September 15, 2013

This recipe has earned a spot in my favorites file. It is delicious, easy, and quick. Just add some Hoppin John and cornbread, and you have a soulful meal!

  • Cranberry bread

    • Bloominanglophile on September 15, 2013

Made this back in 1994 and rated it "Good".

  • Pumpkin with ham, onions, and corn

    • Bloominanglophile on September 15, 2013

Hmmm...I gave this 4 stars back in 1994, with the suggestion to either use less onion, or perhaps dice them instead. Think I may have to revisit (?) this before rating it for EYB!

  • Corn bread

    • Bloominanglophile on September 15, 2013

When I made this many years ago, I noted that I "can find a better recipe". This recipe doesn't have any sugar, uses milk instead of buttermilk, and has no melted butter in the batter--three ways in which it is different from my favorite (so far) cornbread recipe (from Deborah Madison's Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone).

  • Chicken-fried steak with cream gravy

    • Bloominanglophile on September 15, 2013

Back when I made this in 1997, I thought it quite good.

  • Sweet potato soufflé

    • Tinala523 on October 19, 2021

Loved this when I made it in the 90's, and still do. Nice and light with a hint of orange, and the marshmallows give a nice touch of sweet. Recommend!

  • Maple custard

    • Hawky on November 03, 2014

I have made this several times over the years. It's quick, easy and done with everyday kitchen staples. Recommended.

  • Emily's chile con carne with beans

    • swegener on February 01, 2015

This was really good--especially using the recipe for homemade chili powder!

  • Pasta with fresh asparagus and scallops

    • pattyatbryce on October 16, 2019

This was one of my first "gourmet" recipes. Easy to do and tastes terrifc.

  • Pumpkin with pork

    • laser633 on September 08, 2021

i look forward to cooking this recipe very year. It is the first thing I think of when pumpkins hit the supermarket! I usually buy an extra pumpkin before Halloween so that I can cook this again for Thanksgiving. This recipe is simple and "cleaner" tasting than the more complicated "Mexican Stew" recipes you will find elsewhere.
