  • Simple coconut quinoa and lentil curry with lime mango

    • Jane on March 09, 2020

This was a really good vegetarian dinner. It didn't take long to pull together and the results were really good. Lentils and quinoa can be bland but there is lots of added flavor from Thai red curry paste, fish sauce, coconut milk, chiles, ginger, curry powder. Red peppers and kale add a lot too. Toppings of mango, almonds, basil, mint and yogurt are not essential (or at least not all of them) but worked well.

  • Molten chocolate crackle pie

    • Jane on December 08, 2020

I usually make my own pie crusts but as this was going to be gluten-free (daughter's request for Thanksgiving dessert) so I used a Whole Foods frozen gf crust. It was actually pretty good, especially with HBH's idea of vanilla sugar sprinkled on the crust edges. The filling was great - a bit gooey on first eating but firmed up more for leftovers. The leftovers lasted very well, still going strong days later. I highly recommend the hazelnut whipped cream (I did include Frangelico).

  • 30 minute Chinese egg drop chicken and rice soup

    • MollyB on February 24, 2023

Very good, quick soup. It's sort of a hybrid of egg drop, hot and sour, and chicken and rice soup that works really well. It was great on a cold winter evening.

  • Buddy the Elf cocktail

    • debkellie on December 04, 2022

Way too easy to drink! A lovely festive season cocktail.

  • Dad’s easy cheesy eggs with chili butter

    • southerncooker on May 24, 2022

I used the Aleppo pepper and sourdough bread in this. Delicious.

  • Honey garlic salmon soba noodle bowls

    • chawkins on October 19, 2023

This was okay, I scaled the recipe to serve 2. I made several changes based on what I had: I supersized the salmon filet, each serving is about 8-10 ounces, replaced the broccoli and Brussel sprouts with baby bok choy and used about 3 ounces of soba; however I made a whole recipe of the marinade and a third recipe of the soba dressing. Picture was taken before sesame seed and scallions were added, you can see that the salmon overshadows the rest of the dish.

    • julesamomof2 on May 26, 2022

This was good for an easy weeknight dinner. I left out the broccoli because I didn't have it, and just simply baked the salmon at the same temp as the sprouts and it all turned out great.

  • Cider braised chicken with caramelized onions

    • chawkins on September 24, 2022

Very good. I made half a recipe with 2lbs of bone-in skin-on drumsticks and garden onions. Used more mushrooms than asked for and caramelized them with the onions before adding the braising liquid.

    • jhallen on September 28, 2022

This was pretty good. I used turkey breast vs. chicken. The broth/liquid was not as flavorful as I would have thought, but otherwise, it came out well.

  • Smashed cucumber and watermelon feta salad

    • chawkins on September 11, 2023

Quite good. I skipped the fresh herbs as it was raining and I did not want to go out to the garden.

  • Lightened up salsa verde chicken stuffed poblano peppers

    • chawkins on November 15, 2022

It was very good but quite salty. I checked the sodium content of the jar of commercial salsa verde that I used, it was over 200 mg for 2T, so 2 C of said salsa would have over 3200mg of sodium. Would be much better if I made my own salsa verde.

  • One-pot cheesy turkey tamale pie

    • chawkins on January 02, 2021

I used a mix of turkey and vegetable stock for the polenta. Had no gravy, so used all enchilada sauce (Emeril's easy enchilada sauce) for the turkey mixture and skipped the cayenne. Used a Mexican blend cheese for the topping. With a quarter cup of chili powder in the enchilada sauce and another couple of tablespoon added in with the turkey, the turkey mixture was somewhat spicy and very flavorful, all that was tamed by the bottom layer of polenta.

  • Brown butter pumpkin seed and espresso glazed big cluster granola

    • cjannace on April 18, 2015

Just made it this morning & it is so tasty! It's going to be hard to keep this around for long. Update: Now that I've had this in my house a few days, it's safe to say that I will make a half-batch next time. It's delicious, but makes a large quantity considering I'm trying to eat smaller portions.

  • Roasted cauliflower salad with creamy honey mustard vinaigrette

    • KarinaFrancis on May 16, 2022

I feel like I’ve only just discovered HBH. This salad was fantastic, possibly a bit more sturdy than intended as I was lacking cucumber and only had a handful of leaves. The flavours are delicious and work really well together. A repeat dish.

    • anya_sf on July 22, 2023

Great flavors and textures. I had to substitute ancho chili powder for chipotle and omitted the red pepper flakes; the cauliflower and chickpeas were still highly spiced, which went well with the dressing. The dressing was rather sweet; I'd consider reducing the honey next time. (Only needed maybe half of it for this salad.)

  • Spicy chickpea and cheese stuffed zucchini

    • KarinaFrancis on May 09, 2022

A little bit of work involved but nothing too difficult, the results were delicious. Would definitely make again.

  • Weeknight cheesy baked chipotle chicken tacos with cilantro lime ranch

    • bktravels on April 19, 2020

May substitute ground beef or turkey for the ground chicken. May substitute plain Greek yogurt for the sour cream.

  • Sage brown butter pumpkin pasta Alfredo

    • wjjjww on October 06, 2022

i made this last night with the short cut of rao’s alfredo sauce. used apple cider to get the last bits of sauce out of the jar. also toasted some walnuts along with the sage for the topping. very delicious!

  • 25 minute black pepper jalapeño basil chicken stir fry (+ coconut lemongrass rice)

    • SuzyP on April 29, 2022

A delicious and quick meal. Did not have lemongrass paste for the rice, used bashed fresh lemongrass instead. Used 2 deseeded jalapenos.

  • Easiest coconut cauliflower adobo

    • natogreen on April 13, 2020

Next time, I'd like to decrease the soy sauce, increase the coconut milk, and simmer the sauce for longer to reduce it before adding the cauliflower, which needs longer to roast anyway.

  • Southern double crusted cinnamon sugar peach cobbler

    • natogreen on August 30, 2020

delicious. I had more biscuit topping than i had space in my baking pan.

  • Baked maple glazed doughnuts

    • dinnermints on June 19, 2022

These were just delightful. I made 14 per the recipe, which was a little bit of a pain given that my pans only have 12 donut wells collectively, but I liked the size of them in the end. I cooked them for 10 minutes and could have cooked them a little less. Also next time I'd put the glaze in something that could be reheated (rather than the metal bowl I used), as the glaze had seized up by the time the last two donuts came out. Wish I'd seen anya'_sf's note about maple extract, will have to try that next time! Because there will be a next time...

    • anya_sf on May 09, 2022

White whole wheat flour worked fine; the whole wheat went well with the maple. I used buttermilk instead of milk, since I needed to use it up, plus there's a large amount of baking soda. Half recipe yielded 6 doughnuts (note: if making the full recipe, you need 2 pans or bake in batches). I added a drop of maple extract to the glaze so the maple flavor really stood out. We liked these a lot.

  • One skillet cheesy green chile chicken

    • peaceoutdesign on December 22, 2022

Great and Easy. I cut the chicken open "like a book" and then pounded it a bit thinner to make it even.

  • One skillet white chicken chili bake

    • peaceoutdesign on November 09, 2023

I was not impressed with this dish but my friends liked it.

  • Pesto tortellini zuppa Toscana

    • peaceoutdesign on November 16, 2022

Puree the sundried tomatoes if you want to redden the broth and distribute the flavor. You can easily leave out the bacon. I used half and half because that was what was on hand. I also added a bit of crushed fennel seed. Leftover cheese rind would do instead of grated parmesan.

  • Christmas salad with honey mustard dressing

    • peaceoutdesign on January 04, 2023

Love this dressing and it emulsifies easily without slowly streaming in EVOO. I left out the Frise.

  • Baked artichokes with honey whipped feta

    • peaceoutdesign on November 11, 2023

I used an air fryer for this and the breading was a bit spotty but still good. I would like to try using a flour dusting and egg prior to the panko to see if I can get a better coating. The feta dip was a huge favorite.

  • Easy skillet cheesy green chile enchilada bake

  • Ham and cheese croissant bake

    • peaceoutdesign on January 29, 2023

Not good enough to make again without some work but it was a great idea.

  • Chipotle chicken stuffed brown sugar roasted acorn squash

    • peaceoutdesign on February 20, 2023

Excellent. I used Leftover rotisserie chicken and I think that's the way to go.

  • The Half Blood Prince cocktail

    • peaceoutdesign on November 06, 2022

I used Vedrenne Blackberry liqueur and cut the amount to 1/4 oz. I made up for it by increasing the Bourbon to 2 oz. I also used 1/4 cup plus of fresh pomegranate seeds and muddled them with the maple syrup. I would definitely be interested in trying it with the Chambord.

  • Brown butter lobster ravioli with tomato cream sauce

    • VineTomato on March 04, 2019

Absolutely delicious but a bit of a schelp to make! I've not made ravioli before, so thought I would try the fresh lasagne sheet method. I could tell from the outset it would not work - they are too thick, and even when soften with hot water they are not pliable enough. So, I had de-constructed ravioli and it was still incredible. I split the milk by pouring it straight into the tomatoes - will I never learn? Split or not what an incredible tomato sauce! Yum! I'll be making this one again but lobster is a bit over the top so perhaps with shrimps or scallops.

  • Hoisin caramelized salmon and sesame soba noodle bowls

    • julesamomof2 on June 05, 2022

Easy and tasted fine, but nothing special. I do like the idea though and it would be very easy to switch up the vegetables and use another protein, so will keep this one on file.

  • Sheet pan chipotle salmon tacos with pineapple jalapeño salsa

    • Zosia on May 02, 2022

I served the salmon in fillet form and served with coconut rice so skipped some of the toppings. The salmon marinade and salsa were very good.

  • Easiest one pan Caprese pesto orzo bake

    • Zosia on August 22, 2022

Despite omitting the cheese (served it with optional parmesan), this was very rich (too rich for us) thanks to the oil for the roasted tomatoes and the oil in the pesto. I used a 186ml jar pesto as part of the liquid; an additional 1 cup of water was required, added during the latter stages of baking. I liked it better second day but I won't make this again.

    • Shaxon on April 18, 2022

I used cauliflower rice instead of orzo, less pesto, and added red pepper flakes. Very good flavors and definitely something I'll make again.

  • Pesto chicken and avocado bacon salad wraps

    • Zosia on January 13, 2023

I adapted this recipe to what I had: I tossed leftover roast chicken breast meat with pesto, substituted crisped prosciutto for bacon, omitted the avocado, used the mayo based dressing as a spread (1/4 recipe) and made with Italian buns. Delicious!.

  • Spiced pumpkin cinnamon roll pancakes

    • Zosia on October 15, 2023

I made the base pancake recipe only without the cinnamon swirl. They were tall and light and fluffy, pleasantly spiced and not sweet. Everyone loved them with a drizzle of maple syrup. I made them with whole wheat flour, 1 tbsp oil in place of the butter and extra buttermilk to thin the batter.

  • Easiest one pan corn and zucchini pesto orzo casserole

    • Barb_N on July 17, 2022

This recipe chose me, as I had leftover sautéed zucchini and corn on the cob in danger of being forgotten. Because my squash was already cooked, I didn't follow the method. Based on a comment on her blog, I seared the corn off the cob in a dry pan. Then I really went off road. Sometimes I feel like HBH recipes have one flavor too many. Well, I added a few extra this time. I added some sun dried tomatoes in oil, left after making another of her pasta recipes. Then I tossed in some pancetta I found in the freezer, and the pesto. I used cavatelli, tiny tiny shells as I didn't have orzo. I would do so again, it holds the sauce better. For cheese I went with feta and gruyere. The feta added a creamy tang. This received the highest praise from my SO- “you could serve this to guests”. We dug in before I got a photo of the intact dish, hence a close up of the left half.

    • anya_sf on August 16, 2022

I used 3 zucchini, 2 tsp dried thyme instead of fresh, slightly less corn. I was skeptical that baking orzo this way would work, but it did, although after 15 min of baking, there wasn't much unabsorbed water and the orzo was still crunchy, so I stirred in another 1/2 cup. I did use warm water, not cold. 4 oz pesto seemed like enough; I used HBH's lemon basil pesto and think the lemon helped perk this up. Also tasted for salt before topping with cheese and needed to add more. This went really well with grilled sausages and my family loved it.

    • angrygreycat on July 19, 2022

Someone just gave me a few zucchini and then I saw this recipe pop up in the notes for this site so I added it to the menu tonight. I really like Half Baked Harvest recipes in general and this was no exception. I did halve the recipe as a 9x13 pan of this would be a lot because we were already having chicken and wedge salad. Would make again.

  • 30 minute pineapple chicken with coconut rice

    • Barb_N on August 06, 2022

This was a winner! I’m already planning to make it again. I made some changes- I subbed EVOO as suggested. I don’t like sesame oil and didn’t want it to overpower the other flavors. I doubled the pineapple juice and subbed gochujang for the red pepper flakes, which I didn’t think would blend into the sauce. I doubled the marinade and split it, serving the rest over roasted eggplant and the rice. I mixed the avocado into the salsa and used cilantro throughout, skipping the thyme. I think this will go into my ‘serve to guests’ repertoire.

    • anya_sf on December 31, 2023

I made coconut (jasmine) rice in the rice cooker. Added cooked broccoli florets and edamame to the chicken, along with the rest of the sauce, which I thickened with cornstarch. In the salsa, I used 2 avocados and cilantro instead of thyme. My family enjoyed this a lot.

  • Creamy corn, zucchini, and bacon chowder

    • Barb_N on August 06, 2022

I love this type of chowder and had all the ingredients for a quick weeknight meal. My version was not pretty enough to photograph.

    • ezwriternc on May 21, 2023

Came out great. Easy and didn’t take too long. Will make again.

    • anya_sf on August 16, 2023

Delicious! I used 1 russet potato and 1 sweet potato, all cheddar cheese, no red pepper flakes. With sweet corn, you might not need the honey; I added it and then had to add a squeeze of lemon juice to balance the sweetness.

  • Herbed spinach and artichoke pull apart pretzel bread

    • Barb_N on October 09, 2022

This recipe was a hit and will be a repeat. I am not a bread baker; my last effort became a doorstop. I am now firmly team pretzel bread. This dough is so easy to work with, I guess b/c of the melted butter. Caveats about the recipe- the stated prep/cook time does not include the 1-1.5 h for the dough to rise, with all the filling it needed to bake for almost twice as long as stated before the inner dough was cooked. I tested with a thermometer to make sure. I would have liked more photos of the assembly, and guidance on the size of the dough once rolled out. My dough rose while I was cutting and assembling and the pieces were squished more tightly in the pan. The inner portion did not pull apart like the top and sides. That said, I will definitely make this again for a special occasion. It was a 4 hour project. Next time I will remember to take a photo.

  • Heirloom tomato cheddar tart with everything spice

    • Barb_N on August 08, 2022

This was so delicious, I wanted to immerse myself in it. I used prepared pesto and TJ’s everything but the bagel spice so this came together in minutes. I did drain the tomato slices while the pastry/pesto/cheddar layer was baking, and I skipped the olive oil drizzle- there was plenty in the pesto. Another winner from HBH!

  • 5 ingredient cranberry Brie cinnamon puff pastry swirls

    • Barb_N on November 27, 2022

This has become a fast favorite for holidays. The only time needed is advance planning to thaw the puff pastry. I skipped the cinnamon as I wanted them more savory. It helped to freeze the roll briefly before slicing. The brie cranberry is a favorite combo.

  • Healthier slow cooker creamy tortellini vegetable soup

    • Barb_N on December 17, 2022

I made this with TJs cauliflower ravioli b/c my frozen tortellini were nowhere to be found. I added cannellini beans and skipped the dairy. I removed the ravioli from the leftover soup. My SO is still raving about it.

  • Spicy beer and butter shrimp + cornbread panzanella salad

    • Barb_N on April 30, 2023

I had a lot of leftover cornbread after a meal for two. This was the perfect way to repurpose it. I skipped the beer and butter shrimp and marinated it briefly in the vinaigrette I used for the salad. It was even good for lunch the next day after keeping the cornbread on top of the rest of the salad until last minute. I will remember this for my next batch of cornbread.

  • Ginger sesame chicken potstickers with sweet chili pomegranate sauce

    • Barb_N on December 09, 2020

I used ground pork which was very mild & didn’t add a lot of flavor. I subbed what veggies I had available- mushrooms, a bit of endive, purple cabbage, scallions and carrots. I cooked the filling first as I don’t have faith that raw filling would steam fully. I also got lazy with the dipping sauce as it was now 90 minutes later- rice wine vinegar and sweet soy. Put most of the filling aside to dumpling another day.

  • 30 minute butter chicken meatballs

    • Barb_N on May 19, 2020

My daughter made this while I made the cheesy herb stuffed naan from same blog. The spices needed doubling and even then the sauce tasted mostly like tomato paste. I prefer the ratios from Urvashi Pitre’s Now and Later Instant Pot Butter Chicken from Food52

    • ezwriternc on April 29, 2023

I roasted eggplant zucchini and bell pepper to round out this dish. I agree that there is probably too much tomato paste and felt like i needed to add more spices. But overall i liked the concept and enjoyed the dish. I didn’t make rice. We just ate this with nana bread. And i used turkey instead of chicken. The meatballs cooked fast. I’ll make it again.

  • Cranberry + Brie cinnamon sugar puff pastry swirls

    • Barb_N on November 27, 2020

I bookmarked these for Thanksgiving months in advance. I made one change- scattering with torn prosciutto instead of cinnamon sugar. Sugar would take them into dessert territory and away from savory apps. It is important to roll up tightly, and popping the roll in the freezer for a few minutes helped tremendously with slicing. AHA moment. I can make these and freeze slices ready to pop in oven all holiday season. So much easier than my old stand-by spinach balls.

  • Creamy wild rice chicken soup with roasted mushrooms

    • Barb_N on November 13, 2023

I have made this several times in the Instant pot. I like the roasted mushrooms on top for contrasting texture. This seems to be a rerun of a version from 2016 but the roasted mushrooms bring it up a notch.

  • Greek lamb meatballs with avocado goddess sauce

    • Barb_N on April 23, 2020

I made this, adhering as close to the recipe as possible. Lamb meatballs, orzo pasta, avocado sauce and herbs. We made the avocado sauce in advance, so of course the top turned brown. Skimmed the top layer and mixed the rest in. Our lamb was not as flavorful as I hoped for. Otherwise, a great recipe.

  • Creamy Caprese quinoa bake

    • e_ballad on December 30, 2016

As another way to use excess quinoa/corn/tomato salad, I again didn't anticipate anything especially exciting with this dish. More fool me - with the amount of cheesy goodness that went into this, how could this go wrong. Very tasty & a great vehicle to incorporating (non-listed ingredient) veg - I'm thinking spinach, kale, zucchini, corn... This was inhaled by husband & toddler alike.

  • Easy spicy baked potato soup

    • gillsil on January 01, 2024

I made a vegetarian version, leaving out the bacon and subbed shop-bought salsa for the salsa verde. It tasted just a bit bland so at the end I added 1tsp of hot chilli jam which gave it the lift it needed. Delicious.

  • Honey whipped goat cheese with marinated olives

    • ezwriternc on April 24, 2023

This was so delicious. I used garlic and herb goat cheese and halved the recipe because probably I’ll be the only one eating it but I’ll definitely make this as a nice appetizer for my next gathering. Flavor bomb in the best possible way!

  • Fiesta chicken + cilantro lime rice fajita bowl with avocado chipotle crema

    • ezwriternc on March 01, 2023

Easy weeknight dinner. The avocado cream is fantastic.

  • Veggie spring rolls with Thai mango dipping sauce

    • ezwriternc on August 12, 2023

This is my go to recipe for spring rolls. This time we made them with tofu we marinated in a soy dressing, lettuce, cucumber, carrot and scallion. You can use any combination. Great sauces too.

  • Spicy pumpkin and pesto cheese stuffed shells

    • tmitra on October 10, 2023

I made just the pumpkin vodka sauce and put it over penne. I made two minor substitutions: (1) spicy Italian pork sausage for spicy Italian chicken sausage and (2) 2T homegrown oregano for 2t dried oregano. Otherwise, I made the sauce as written, and it's one of the worst things I've ever cooked. When I tasted it out of the pan, I knew I didn't want to eat it, which is a rare occurrence in my kitchen. I won't be back to Half Baked Harvest.

  • Garlic butter creamed corn chicken

    • averythingcooks on March 11, 2020

I made 1/2 of this recipe tonight with 4 boneless chicken thighs and 3 corn cobs. The rest was pretty much just 1/2 of everything ....and it is delicious!!! I did have to add the end of a jar of basil pesto in place of the fresh basil this time. We scraped the pan clean!!

    • anya_sf on June 09, 2020

So good! My family devoured this. I substituted dried herbes de Provence for fresh thyme on the chicken, cooked 3 chicken breasts, omitted the red pepper flakes, and increased the garlic (it was mild spring garlic). Use a big pan; everything just fit in my 12" cast iron skillet. I was generous with the fresh basil and Parmesan at the end. The suggested accompaniments of quinoa and grilled zucchini were perfect.

    • htomren on March 09, 2020

Can substitute chicken thighs for chicken breasts, coconut milk or milk for heavy cream, and Asiago cheese for Parmesan cheese.

    • jhallen on July 27, 2022

This was great and easy. I substituted salmon for chicken, coconut oil for butter, and coconut cream for heavy cream and used plant cheese (staying away from dairy obviously). Really good.

  • Basil pomodoro shrimp with creamed corn polenta

    • anya_sf on June 21, 2022

The shrimp was quick, easy, and tasty. I skipped the red pepper flakes as we didn't want it spicy. Served over a different corn polenta recipe with more liquid plus parmesan cheese. Three people had no trouble eating all the shrimp.

  • Herby buttered mushroom Stroganoff

    • anya_sf on January 05, 2021

I used 1 lb cremini mushrooms - not sure if that was 4 cups. Only used 3/4 cup wine as I didn't want the sauce too winey or thin. Tasted prior to adding cream (rather than coconut milk), I thought it was too harsh, but after the cream, it was really yummy. I used tarragon instead of thyme and sage and added it with the parsley. This served 3 for dinner.

  • No stir Brie risotto with lemon butter asparagus

    • anya_sf on April 25, 2021

Using the Instant Pot (the best appliance ever for risotto IMO), there was no need to heat the broth. 5 cups may have been excessive; I'll use 4 next time. Only a bit of extra broth was needed at the end. I doubled the asparagus so we'd have plenty of veg. With the cheeses, lemon, thyme, and garlic, this was quite delicious.

    • htomren on April 12, 2020

Can substitute vegetable broth for chicken broth, and Arborio rice for sushi rice.

  • Spicy garlic lemon butter shrimp with Parmesan corn polenta

    • anya_sf on June 21, 2022

Note that the recipe simply calls for polenta, but the blog post (and cooking time) specifies quick-cooking polenta.

    • anya_sf on June 21, 2022

I made this polenta recipe to go with basil pomodoro shrimp. I tried this one because it called for more liquid, so should be creamier, plus it has cheese. Despite the large amount of liquid, my polenta still got super thick; I had to add an extra cup of water at the end to loosen it. I used instant polenta, possibly not the best brand, which may have been the problem. Nevertheless, the flavor with fresh corn added was great, and went really well with shrimp, although there was a lot more polenta relative to shrimp.

  • Magic chocolate chip cookies

    • anya_sf on April 15, 2022

I tried this recipe (1/2 batch) as I had 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk to use up. My cookies must have been smaller since I got 14. Echoing many blog comments, my cookies turned out more cakey than chewy, and did not resemble the blog photo. It's possible they were overbaked, although I thought I followed the directions exactly. Flavor was fine, not as tooth-achingly sweet as the original bar cookies (but those are more gooey).

  • 20 minute stir fried honey ginger sesame noodles

    • anya_sf on February 14, 2024

Just made the sauce, adding a bit of chili garlic sauce since I skipped the chili garlic oil. Cooked 1 lb ground turkey, diced onion, frozen green beans and peas, and 4 ramen packets. There was enough sauce for everything. Topped with roasted peanuts, it was a good pantry meal.

  • One skillet lemon butter Dijon chicken and orzo with feta sauce

    • anya_sf on January 23, 2024

I made approximately 1/2 recipe, but with 1 cup quinoa instead of orzo, 2 cups broth, and an entire bunch of kale, wilted prior to adding to the skillet. The quinoa took 20 min in the oven. Overall, a delicious combination of flavors, just needing more salt. I imagine the lemon slices added flavor, but we didn't care to eat them. Two of us finished this for a hearty dinner.

  • 20 minute Korean beef sesame noodles

    • anya_sf on November 03, 2023

This takes 20 min once your meat and vegetables are prepped. The sauce didn't mix easily just by shaking. I used chicken thighs and a lot more vegetables (summer squash, bell pepper, broccoli, baby bok choy), so cooked everything in stages. Like angrygreycat, I found the sauce too thin, so added 1 Tbsp cornstarch. Otherwise, this was easy and delicious!

    • angrygreycat on September 21, 2022

This was good tasting but a little waterier sauce than I liked so I added some cornstarch to thicken. Maybe because I used frozen veg? Anyway super quick and good tasting weeknight supper

  • Cinnamon sugar swirled apple butter bread

    • anya_sf on January 12, 2024

Yummy. Whole wheat pastry flour worked well. I used one whole honeycrisp apple, which was well over 1 cup. There was more topping than needed, although half of it fell off when unmolding and slicing the bread. Honey butter would be completely unnecessary.

    • jhallen on September 28, 2022

This made a very good bread. I did a vegan version, using egg and butter substitutes and non-dairy cream cheese, which came out very well. It's on the sweet side, to be sure, so it worked well as a dessert and as a breakfast cake the next day.

  • Easy blueberry monkey bread

    • anya_sf on July 20, 2023

Delicious, but very sweet, and I discarded the leftover butter and sugar after rolling (about 1/4 of the amounts). Next time I would use max 1/2 c brown sugar. No size is given for the jar of jam; I used about 8 oz. The cream cheese frosting went well with it, made with only half the powdered sugar.

  • How to make a killer summer cheeseboard (with pickled strawberries + herb roasted cherry tomatoes!)

    • mjes on May 23, 2018

This is an absolute favorite - pulling the recipe out for Memorial Day/grandson's birthday. I like to make my own burrata so I can add some herbs to the ricotta filling giving guests a pleasant surprise.

  • One pot stove-top pumpkin mac and cheese

    • et12 on September 24, 2023

Very rich but also very good. Quick to make and made the perfect meal for a cozy night in.

  • Brown butter maple glazed cinnamon apple scones

    • Skamper on November 06, 2022

I'd describe these as scone-shaped muffins. I wish I'd added more spices - extra cinnamon or maybe cardamom and/or ginger. They really need a glaze. I used a brown butter caramel glaze rather than the maple glaze in the recipe.

  • Tomato peach crostini with hot bacon dressing

    • angrygreycat on August 03, 2022

Had this tonight for dinner as the local Jersey Peaches have been amazing and this really highlighted everything good about them . Would definitely make again. Don't think it needed 6 slices of bacon for the dressing, next time would cut it down to 3 slices. that might be because my bacon was thick cut.

  • Sweet and spicy sesame meatball bowl with mango cucumber salad

    • angrygreycat on August 01, 2022

This was okay. The combination of meatball and cucumber peach and mango was good but it felt like there is something missing, maybe more acid on the salad and more spice in the meatball to give more punch to the sweet and spicy taste?

  • Crockpot crispy Buffalo chicken tacos with jalapeño ranch

    • angrygreycat on September 22, 2022

Made this for dinner tonight, very tasty and quick and easy.

  • White chicken chili corn chowder

    • angrygreycat on September 28, 2023

Made this for dinner tonight. Definitely will keep on rotation. Everyone enjoyed it. The broth has just a nice amount of creamyness due to the partial blending and addition of the cheese.

  • Twice baked crispy cheesy taco rice casserole

    • angrygreycat on September 24, 2023

made this for dinner tonight. I liked it but I would have added some corn and/or beans .

  • 25 minute fajita shrimp rice bowls

    • angrygreycat on October 04, 2023

Liked the ingredients her but next would add more spice.

  • Almost instant red curry beef and garlic noodles

    • angrygreycat on October 30, 2023

super fast and tasty week night dinner. Will keep in rotation

  • One pot cheesy creamed corn orzo

    • angrygreycat on September 23, 2023

Made this tonight - nice side dish with steak. Use best corn possible as the corn flavor is really important here

  • Creamy green chili tortilla soup

    • angrygreycat on December 03, 2023

Good tasty soup. I made some rice to put in the bowls and bulk it up.

  • Butternut squash and cheese stuffed pasta shells

    • jay.moe on January 12, 2023

I omitted the prosciutto for a vegetarian meal. I mashed the roasted butternut squash before combining it with the ricotta cheese and used a pastry bag to fill the shells. Substituted an Italian blend of shredded cheese in place of the fontina or provolone. Topped the dish with parsley instead of fresh basil. The dish was well liked by the family. Even one member who doesn't like butternut squash had seconds.

Delicious! And a full meal which makes it so much easier.

  • Baja fish tacos with chipotle mango salsa

    • christinezac on July 17, 2022

Very tasty - loved the mango salsa and the sauce. Couldn't find a poblano pepper so used jalapeño. BBQd it as well as the fish. Tasted great with the melon salad.

  • Sheet pan honey Buffalo chicken with broccoli

    • ginger2212 on March 24, 2023

This was delicious!! The broccoli was perfect so I will definitely be roasting like this on a regular basis. The chicken was wonderful and tender. Used Trader Joes' vegan dill dressing and it was perfect. Served on top of rice. Would be great with a sweet potato too!

  • Butternut squash rigatoni pasta pie

    • Apepin on October 10, 2022

I didn't bother making this into a pie. That seemed to fussy. I just mixed the sauce with the pasta and topped with the cheese and procuitto. I used gruyere instead of mozzarella. It was delicious.

  • Prosciutto balsamic peach chicken with burrata and basil

    • MissKoo on August 18, 2020

Just one fabulous summer dish hitting all the right flavor notes. Used Dalmatia fig spread on the chicken, and much more generously than recipe suggests. Also believe recipe meant for crushed garlic cloves to be added at the same time as shallots, which I did. Used Sauvignon Blanc and a barrel-aged balsamic vinegar from local culinary shop for the sauce, which was outstanding with the chicken, the peaches, and the burrata. I roasted the organic chicken breasts for 20 minutes because some were quite large but suggest a shorter cooking time (15 minutes) to keep the meat moist. Served with lemon-garlic orzo and green salad. It's a keeper. Will definitely make again. Rave reviews.

  • Spiced cranberry rosé spritzers

    • MissKoo on March 09, 2023

Made these to serve at Cookbook Group dinner. Easy to put most of the ingredients together a day ahead and then just add ginger beer and blood orange slices before serving. Rave reviews. They go down very easily and are so pretty in the glass. Recipe makes a large batch, so a good drink for a party.

  • Folded crispy Cuban chicken wraps

    • dgiles on April 15, 2022

These are amazing. I liked them so much more than quesadillas. I made everything just as written, although I followed the folding technique on the video. Also, the video mentioned squeezing some orange juice over the chicken, which was not mentioned in the recipe. Next time, I would add a bit of lime with the OJ for a mojo vibe. I can’t wait to make the Buffalo chicken version.

  • Sticky Asian BBQ boneless oven baked chicken wings

    • Kag2020 on March 24, 2023

Really tasty. I used my normal oven baked method for the chicken (eggs, not buttermilk because I used chicken tenderloins), lowest shelf of the oven at 425 for 12 minutes then turned for another five, added the sauce and back in at 400 for 5 minutes. I eyeballed the spices and went a bit light on the cloves. Will make again. Served with jasmine rice and Chinese red cabbage.

  • 30 minute spicy coconut butter chicken

    • Kag2020 on May 04, 2022

Absolutely outrageous. And simple. I have a tikka masala recipe which I love but it uses every spice and tool I have in the kitchen. This came together in 40 minutes, but I did marinate the chicken a few hours in advance. I also read several reviews from the blog and omitted the red pepper flakes and just sprinkled a bit of cayenne in both spots called for in the recipe; I think the original 2-4 teaspoons of the combined peppers would have been a bit much for my family. My measurements were also a bit creative with the liquids, basically using the amounts of coconut milk, tomato paste and cream which I had available. Such a keeper!

  • Crockpot Korean inspired tacos with yum yum yummm sauce

    • Running_with_Wools on November 14, 2022

These are incredibly good! I browned the boneless short ribs and then poured the sauce over them and cooked in a 200 degree oven for six hours. I served this with the bright crunchy slaw , cheddar cheese, and the yum yum sauce on toasted corn tortillas. Kids were happy too.

  • One skillet creamy sun-dried tomato chicken and orzo

    • ozfoodie on April 03, 2023

Made 1½ recipe and used thighs – this way it served 6 for us. Not much effort for a lot of tasty food. (The suggested rosemary garnish was a bit redundant. After we'd eaten this for lunch I picked the leaves off and added them to the leftovers in meal prep containers for the freezer.) Hubby and I both enjoyed and we'll have this one again.

  • Turkish fried eggs in herbed yogurt

    • Kelseyg33 on December 26, 2023

I used harissa, shredded cucumber, garlic, cilantro, parsley, salt and pepper and zatar in sheep milk yogurt instead of what is called for in the sun dried tomato pesto yogurt, I also made a butternut squash mash with zatar and added cumin to the melted butter topping. This is a really flexible and delicious recipe to suit your preferences. Will absolutely be making it again

  • Honey butter blackened scallops with herby polenta

    • Acarroll on January 11, 2023

Loved the spice mixture on the scallops, and we drizzled extra over the polenta. There was extra polenta which we saved - the next day it was good, but too heavy to be eaten on its own. It needed something spicy/acidic to cut through the richness. Pro tip - remove the muscle from the scallop before cooking!

  • Sicilian style salmon with garlic broccoli and tomatoes

    • Acarroll on October 01, 2023

This was good but not necessarily memorable or repeatable. My salmon skin stuck to the pan (not sure why). I used Proxies blanc slate instead of white wine, and I think I added too much which made the sauce too sweet.

  • Brown butter pumpkin oatmeal chocolate chip cookies

Very crispy! Could have used just a little more kick. I will make these again!

  • 25 minute chili oil egg ramen (+ chili garlic sesame oil)

    • lauren424 on March 30, 2022

Delicious! Really good and quick. I used chicken broth and spinach. I didn't have any chili oil so I just threw some red pepper flakes in a bowl with sesame oil since I was short on time. Have made this twice so far and will be making it again. Also added shiitake mushrooms!

  • Crockpot creamy French onion chicken and orzo

    • chef_jackie on October 18, 2023

Would prefer the stove top method so you're able to caramelize the onions more. The crock pot method didn't get the onions as soft as I would have preferred.

  • Bursting blueberry lemon layer cake

    • djnielsen64 on May 10, 2023

This was excellent. I used 2 9” pans instead of 3 8” and it worked fine. (I didn’t quite use all the batter.) I used cream cheese and half butter/half canola oil in the cake batter, and I added 1/2 tsp coriander to complement the blueberries.

  • Crockpot crispy caramelized pork ramen noodle soup w/curry roasted acorn squash

    • jaxcap on August 08, 2023

I've made this twice- a lot of work, but very good flavor. I suggest not mixing in all of the noodles on the first day unless you're going to eat it all immediately.
